Ohio State has offered St. Edward WR Alex Stump.

I can't see how the staff takes both. That being said, I don't think the offer has to do with Cager cooling on the Buckeyes, but rather, Coombs and Zach Smith watching him play on Friday and coming away convinced that he deserves an offer.
Yea didn't mean to sound like they're treating Stump as a plan B or C guy. More so what you said. Also saw over on 11W that Birmingham (who when it comes to OSU recruiting is quite reliable and trustworthy) said that offering stump has no effect on the pursuit of Cager. But not sure if that means A) They'll continue recruiting him until one of them committs or B) If that comment is from the stand point of the staff and that Cager would be turned off by a committment from Cager.

I've been told quite plainly that an offer to Stump, and even a commitment from him, means zero in the Buckeyes' pursuit of Lawrence Cager.

Three-star WR Alex Stump of Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward has been committed to Kentucky since May, but Wildcat fans haven't felt comfortable with that commitment for a few months. First, it seemed as though Stanfordwas the school that was pushing for a flip, and it seemed like one might come sooner or later. Now things got even more interesting as Ohio State offered the in-state wide receiver over the weekend. Stump has been hoping for an offer from the Buckeyes for a long time, so if nothing else, this will likely turn everything upside down for him once again. As more and more options come his way, the likelihood of him ending up in Lexington gets slimmer and slimmer. However, with his teammates David Dowell and Andrew Dowell expected to commit to Kentucky by the weekend, could that change things? Stump had been working on the duo for BBN for quite some time. Dream offer from Ohio State vs. comfort, teammates and super recruiter Vince Marrow in Lexington?

The Alex Stump situation became a little more interesting this weekend when his two teammates, Andrew Dowell and David Dowell, committed to Kentucky, which is where Stump is already committed. Rumors have been circulating that a recent offer from Ohio State may push Stump to the Buckeyes, so will the addition of the Dowell's to the Wildcats solidify his standing with Kentucky? I'd say probably not. It's difficult to bypass childhood dreams and for Stump his dream was to play for Ohio State. He will not be able to pass up the opportunity, so I still expect a flip to the Buckeyes if Urban Meyer wants him. However, will the numbers work out for the Buckeyes and Stump and how long will Kentucky play second fiddle to a kid who claims he is committed?
