Ohio Stadium aka THE Horseshoe (Official Thread)

I agree, OSU could do a better job of publicizing these. The problem is, the numbers are very limited and if they announce too loudly then people get angry because a mad rush was created for a couple hundred single seats that were gone in minutes.

Did anybody else get the email that went out yesterday? Still seats to a lot of games out there, including some Big Ten games. I picked up a couple tickets without a problem - about the easiest birthday gift for my wife that I'll ever shop for.

I just bought tickets to Illinois this weekend with no problems and received that E-mail yesterday. I forwarded it to my dad. He had no idea that there were any left.

I think the general population just assumes that there is no way for them to buy tickets without scalping- which can (and seemingly has) had a negative impact on selling out games when tickets are still available through the ticket office.

How do those of us who don't get these emails about buying tickets find out where to go to buy tickets?

Fortunately for Nebraska, our coach--Bo Pelini--is an ex buckeye player and knows all about the horseshoe and SHOULD have our team prepared. We'll see when the game actually happens how well he prepped Nebraska for the rousing cacophony which awaits his/our team.

All the talk and thought process in the world will not prepare anyone to enter the 'Shoe.

This not only includes visiting teams, but also the first time a new TBDBITL member goes down the ramp. The first game someone attends there, the first time a freshman comes out of that locker room onto the field.

In my IMO, nothing compares to being in the 'Shoe

I'm looking forward to watching Nebraska play tOSU in that venerable/historic stadium. The shoe is steeped in sooooooooooooooo much history. I'm LOVING this move from the Texas centric big-12 to the B1G. So far, I've met nothing but respectful fans at various B1G boards like this one. It's very refreshing to carry on intelligent dialog vs the usual turd-grenade warfare.

Those Texas folks are a different breed, that's for sure.

So I take it you haven't met any Wisconsin or PSU fans yet?

Since Barry Alvarez played his college ball @ Nebraska has been forthcoming in stated he modeled what he built @ Wisconsin after what he experienced @ Nebraska, there seems to exist an almost brotherhood between our two institutions/fanbases. Huskerfans felt very welcomed up at Madison last season and are looking forward to returning the favor this season in Lincoln.

PSU ??? That's a different story altogether. We have a history with those guys. The infamous "out of bounds" reception which was called good (this was before instant replay) which resulted in a Nebraska loss and cost us playing in the MNCG that season. Then they are still perturbed we were awarded a MNC in a season when they went undefeated. However, with what PSU has been through with the Sandusky scandal, most of the PSU faithfull I've interacted with lately have been very civil.

Two charter members of the 800 wins club, both steeped in tradition and with multiple MNC's and mulitple Heisman and other major post season award winners going head to head in this vulnerable college football palace in front of a national television audience. What's not to like ?

Win or lose, I'm excited to watch Nebraska play tOSU in the shoe.
