The permanent lights seems to be the big key. No renters fees. No outside obstacles for temp lights which mean better parking. So $$ would be recouped in a few years. And add on the seats...

Re: for 2013 the cost for a reserved full season student ticket package is $252.00

Just sayin': Since most of the seats added (south stands) will student seats it may take a little longer than 10 years. It might be closer to 14.

$9M /(2500 x $252) = 14.28

Of course that is with no ticket price increases, which we know there will be.

I'm pretty sure Jim Delany already said (to a newspaper in Iowa or Nebraska) the league is going to relax those rules (November night games) starting with the next television contract. And then reiterated that to BTN this past season.

You didn't add in concessions, which would drastically reduce the amount of time.

There was a similar statement prior to last season too... and then nothing changed.
But I keep hoping somebody starts making decisions.

More seats and lights in Ohio Stadium
An $8.9 million project ongoing at Ohio Stadium will add approximately 2,600 seats with the construction of two seating areas that extend above the south stands' stadium tunnels. The project, which will be completed in August 2014, will include a new players' tunnel and it will also add rows of permanent MUSCO sports lighting atop the stadium's east wall and above the press box. Upon completion, the south stands will hold just over 17,300 students (an additional 9,000 students will continue to have seats in the north end of the stadium).

I remember Jim Tressel saying on his weekly radio show (during the 2007 season) that Ohio State couldn't use gray on the field in 2007 because the gray FieldTurf had was more of a "charcoal" (his words). It's been seven years, I hope OSU at least has the option (whether the program chooses to use gray or not).

Personally, I'd like to see a grass-colored end zone with gray-lettered "Ohio State" and "Buckeyes" on the other end. Maybe the Block O at midfield could be gray too (but scarlet is fine as well). But very few of FieldTurf's installations have a grass-colored end zone.
