Game Thread Ohio State 6, Penn State 13 (Oct. 25)

JT and the team are looking for the crowd to help them win this game on Saturday. So wear scarlet and wave the towels. But more importantly, during the game get loud and stay loud, and get loud at the proper times. Most of us understand this, but some may not, so allow me to explain.

Go ahead and yell whenever TP or Beanie break off a 20-yard run, and whenever tOSU scores or gets a turnover. High five your friends and neighbors. That excitement is great and adds to the atmosphere in the 'Shoe.

But to really help the team, yell every time the Penn State offense approaches the line of scrimmage, and keep yelling until the ball is snapped. That is how the home team disrupts the other offense from hearing the QB, and from hearing their center call out blocking assignments and blitz pick-ups. It can lead to false starts, missed blocking assignments (and maybe a sack), and their QB and receivers not being on the same page (and maybe an interception).

How should you be loud? Personally, if there's no organized cheer at the time, I like to yell 'DEEEEEEEEEEE' for several seconds at a time - for me it's logical and about the most noise I can make over a period of several seconds. And after I run out of breath before the ball is snapped, I yell it again.

Conversely, when the Bucks have the ball, you can cheer between plays, but once tOSU gets lined up on offense, calm down so our offense can communicate. Plus, that saves your voice for when Penn State is on offense.

So if you're lucky enough to be at the game, have fun, and be loud. But be as loud as you can be every time that PSU is getting ready to snap the football, not just on third down when the bell is rung. That's what JT and team really want when they are asking the crowd to help them.

And after tOSU wins the game, be proud that you helped - and then rest up your voice for The Game.

Go Bucks!
I'll add one thing. Get loud while PSU is IN THE HUDDLE. Nothing worse than when you can't hear in the huddle, and you have to say...what? What? Or you screw up the snap count, or play. Trust me...it's a good time to be loud. Also...follow the players leads. When somebody on defense tells you to get loud...GET LOUD!!!! When somebody on offense tells you to get loud...GET LOUD!!! Pryor has done it a few times! But when the offense tells you to shut up...SHUT UP!!!

To get loud, I clap my hands (I never wear gloves to a game, no matter how cold, because 1) gloves aren't as loud when clapping and 2) gloves are for women) and I scream "OOOOOOOOOO!" It's just about the loudest noise I can make. There are a few games, where I will just start yelling obscenities like, "SHIT! FUCK! COCKSUCKER! FUCK!" It's fun because sometimes it gets so loud that I can't even hear the words, nor can anybody else around me. Now that's the best. The last time I was able to do that without hearing myself was the PSU game in 2002. So I hope it gets that loud again. 10B will be doing it's part. I will make sure of it. Will you make sure that your section is too? Every section needs a leader! I'll start a few, "Let's Go Bucks!" cheers before the game. It is pretty easy, I always get at least a few thousand people to join in, and sometimes the whole stadium. People love the, "Let's Go Bucks!" cheer when it's quiet.

Since it is a night game; hopefully the kids will be more into it. As a student i have to admit our involvement in the game has been lackluster and not what it used to be. I beleive it is the mentality of the younger students coming in. They either are into football becasue its OSU or because its cool; not because they actually love this sport. I remember my freshman year when no one sat down the entire time the clock ticked. Hopefully this game we can revert to something great again.

I Half way blacked out during the AJ Hawk INT during the Texas game because I was screaming so loud. WILD. Anyways, for those going to the game yell extra loud because I would've brought that noise level up a few notches had I been able to go!

I have lost count on how many times I have started to see colors and almost blacked out. One game I fainted and really did black out. I sat down for a couple minutes, but then was up at it again. I won't lie...when it is YSU or a blowout game, I'm not nearly as loud, especially when the game is out of reach. I just enjoy watching great football and getting loud on 3rd down. But when it is Penn State, Michigan, or any big or close game, i'm crazy. The old people in our section love me for it though!

Yeah, that was pretty loud. But I still believe that the 2002 tOSU/State Penn game was the overall loudest, and Gamble's INT return for a TD during that game was the loudest moment I can recall.

Not much activity on this thread this evening. You all better be out planning ways on how YOU are going to help beat Penn State Saturday. Or getting hammered. Because if you aren't doing either, then that's a big :shake:. I start feeling like I am right now many times when we are about to play Penn State. I hate Penn State! I HATE THEM!!! Dammit. I hate Michigan too, but at least I respect their program and I don't love their fans, but they are complete idiots. But Penn State's program and fans, terrible. When they joined the Big Ten they thought they were going to own the conference. After 1994 their fans were all talking shit about how they were so much better than the Big Ten and crap like that. So disrespectful. So ignorant. When there team is up, there fans are brutal. They threw bottles of piss at our band. THEY ASSULTED OUR BAND!!!!!!!! FUCK THAT SHIT RIGHT THERE!!! That is the biggest bullshit ever. Hell, the last time I was there, I got assulted, in '05. They won the game, and still...assulted. Man, but when they were losing, they couldn't even sell out their games, and they kept their mouth shut.

But now they've beaten Michigan and Illinois and Temple and they are the best thing in the world. Here is a news flash Penn State...YOU HAVENT PLAYED ANYBODY!!! Our defense is going to kick the shit out of that offense. Our secondary is going to have a field day. Our linebackers are going to be flying all over the place. And The Shoe! Oh my is The Shoe going to be loud. I WILL MAKE SURE OF THAT. Dammit if you are in that stadium Saturday and not loud as hell then you don't deserve to be there.

I have no idea who is playing this weekend. None. I don't give a crap about ANY college football game but this one. I don't care who beats who or what. I'm not even going to watch other game's on Saturday. I'm gonna get to campus early, get pumped up, go to skull session, maybe see some Herbie and Corso, and just get pumped up. I'm so excited to see Pryor and Beanie do their thing. I can't wait to see Jenkins get his third pick six in a row against Penn State. Penn State can window dress their offense with this "Spread HD" shit all the want. Oh it looks so fancy against Temple and Costal Carolina. Oh what a sexy offense. Well it's all a bunch of fluff. Well fluff isn't going to stand a chance when they finally get hit in the mouth for a change Saturday. Our defense is going to go for the kill. It is going to hurt them, smell blood, and go for the kill. Their offense is so untested. They are soft. Their recievers are soft. Derrick Williams is soft. Our defense is strong as hell, and our linebackers are going to be faster than they have seen all year.

I love how they said they've finally been tested and passed, when they beat Michigan. No offense, but you beat Michgian...at home. Michigan is 2-5 this year, and they aren't even a rival of yours. Big deal. But I guess you have to make big deals about stuff like that when you haven't been good enough to beat them in nine years. Or you have to make up rivals with teams like Michigan or Ohio State because you really don't have one. Because you came into the conference, thought you would own it, and then after 1994 your team has been crap. You've been owned. And the fans think the team is back. Well the Buckeyes are where the fairy tail ends kiddos. THEY FUCKING THREW BOTTLES OF PISS AT OUR BAND!!! Dammit. Their fans don't deserve shit. That is going to come back to haunt them. What happened in 2005. The way they treated not just us fans, but our team, and especially our band, is going to come back and haunt them. They are too scared to bring their band to Columbus. But you know what. I have faith in our fans that we wouldn't throw bottles of piss at their band. We are just going to take it out on the field. Our defense will be hitting them hard. 2005 was a mistake Penn State fans. Since then you haven't beaten us. And I don't think you will for a very long time. The curse of The Best Damn Band In The Land!!!

I'm going to take out all this hatred by being as loud as possible at the game Saturday. I'm going to scream until I can't scream anymore. When the Lions are in the huddle, I want to make it so they can't hear each other. Then when the break and get to the line, I want it to only get louder. For some reason, Ohio Stadium always gets a little extra louder when it is Penn State. Penn State 2002 was still the loudest game i've been too. And we won! And we didn't throw piss at your band, or assult your fans. We were happy we won, because we love the Buckeyes first and foremost, and could care less about Penn State or their fans. I hate them, but I ain't going to go out of my way for them, in a negative or positive way. I hope their fans enjoy their trip to Columbus as much as I did my trip in 2005, except I hope you and the women that you are with don't get assulted. It's like that video of those Buckeye fans getting shit thrown at them by the students. I don't wish that upon anybody. But I do hope that the game is so miserable for Lions fans, that they feel like they wasted their money. Instead just sell your ticket to a Buckeye fan. At least they will enjoy it.

The season is on the line for both teams. But this game is in our house. The players love playing at home. And Penn State hates playing here. There is something about Buckeye defense at night in the Shoe that just makes them play amazing. Even in that game we lost to Texas in 2005. Texas was the best offense in the country, by far, and we stopped them almost enough to come through and beat the best team in the country. Buckeye defense under the lights at The Shoe never fails. And Buckeye defense against Penn State at The Shoe never fails. PUT THE TWO TOGETHER...and it's going to get ugly for the Penn State offense. At 8:40 when they look up at the scoreboard and see Ohio State 14 Penn State 0, they are going to realize that they are screwed. ENJOY it BUCKEYES! This team has worked had to get to where they are right now. This team deserves this. GO BUCKS! Let's kick some Lion ass!!!!

Let's [censored]ing go!!!!! I'm ready. Tomorrow is going to be the second longest day of the year. (Friday of Beat Michigan week is the longest). But I seriously am so up for this game. I feel like i've had a 2 liter of Moutain Drew, but instead i've had 7 buds and some yingling.

Who needs sleep??? The Buckeyes are going to show Penn State that they are just one a dirty step-son in the Big Ten family, and that since they joined the family, we are there daddy...and we are going to slap them around until they realize that it was a privledge for them to join our family, but they need to know their role. Buckeyes are your daddy, and Michigan is your mommy. Now...you've been good for nine years, and listened to your mommy. But this year you beat your mommy. Well daddy is pissed, and is going to fuck you up. Because you are just the fucking step-son.

Okay...that may have been a little crazy. BUT DAMMIT PENN STATE SUCKS. Ohh [censored]

i'll play along. this should fuel the hatred a bit more. i know we all remember, but we need to be reminded of who we are dealing with.

EDIT: Link/Video removed.

NOTE: To all, please don't link this video anymore. I know it makes us mad, but I'd rather not give ANY OSU fan some hair-brained reason to even consider retaliation. This was a PITT student, not a PSU fan. Doesn't mitigate the fact that NO PSU fans came to the aid of the assaulted OSU fan, but our standards should NOT be adjusted according to someone else's behavior.

Act with class. Demand the same from your fellow fans.

PS - Not directed at you in particular 14&OH.

Yeah...that's what I was talking about in my post. I just didn't feel like justifying it with a link. "This is Penn State bitch!" <----exactly. :shake:

"That was the sickest thing i've ever fucking seen." <----again...your life obviously sucks. :shake:
