Ohio State currently holds the country's top class, and also looks to add an elite 2018 cornerback.

In case you haven't seen yet, Ohio State's 2016 class is back to being rated #1 on 247Sports after LSU had to deal with a decommitment on Monday. There's a lot of time left for the Buckeyes to hold onto the mythical recruiting national championship for this year's cycle.

Typically after Thanksgiving is when things start to get extremely interesting on the recruiting front. Since Urban Meyer's arrival, he's had new names pop up in the months of December and January and the Buckeyes are always in the thick of the race for those prospects, and sometimes even land some of them. There are a handful of five and four-star prospects left on the board for this year and you can bank on the Buckeyes grabbing a few of them. This is definitely the most fun time for you recruiting junkies so buckle up for a wild ride to close out a great 2016 class.

Tutt offered

Late Monday, Ohio State offered the number one rated cornerback prospect in the country for the class of 2018, Christian Tutt. Tutt is a no-doubt 5-star prospect who holds 23 total offers as a sophomore in high school. From Georgia, Tutt can become another great player from the Peach State to sign with the Buckeyes -- Ohio State has fared well the past decade when recruiting the state of Georgia.

At 5'11, Tutt has proved to be a true lockdown corner and he'll only continue to grow as a player physically. Tutt's recruitment will most likely go all the way to signing day when he's a senior, so obviously there's no rush in this one. Ohio State does need to stay persistent with him, though, and keep the contact flowing. Ohio State's next move is to get him on campus next summer for a camp. If that happens, it would be safe to say the Buckeyes are a legit threat in this recruitment process.

QUICK HITS

  • Offensive line commit Michael Jordan was presented with his Army All-American jersey on Tuesday afternoon. Jordan is solid to Ohio State and currently the number 14 rated offensive tackle in the class of 2016. Ohio State has had success in the state of Michigan since Urban Meyer took over and Jordan is set to carry the torch for this year's class.

Congratulations Michael Jordan on being selected to play at the 2016 US Army All-American Bowl! #PlymouthWildcats pic.twitter.com/pjtgDBLCty
