Glenville's Jones talks with Meyer at FNL

Cleveland Glenville has produced dozens of Division I prospects over the last decade, and Marcelys Jones should be another.

The 2014 two-way lineman competed at Ohio State?s Friday Night Lights, and he is hoping it will bring him closer to his first offer.

"The camp was great, a lot of competition," Jones said. "I'm working hard trying to get this O-State offer."
Rivals $ - Glenville lineman seeing plenty of interest

Receiving interest from USC, UCLA, Wisconsin, Arizona State, Illinois, Ohio State, Florida, and Tennessee...obviously like OSU but is open to anyone...talks about being a part of the Glenville tradition.

Related to both Aundrey Walker and Donovan Munger, FYI...

Big schools taking interest in Jones
August, 26, 2012
By Brad Bournival | ESPN.com

The colleges turning their attention to Marcelys Jones (Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville) are starting to pile up and they all seem to have something in common: BCS bowl games.

Ohio State has interest. USC has interest. Florida has interest.

Add UCLA, Illinois, Wisconsin and West Virginia and the 2014 offensive tackle is starting to turn heads while registering one pancake after another.

?I?m just keeping my options open,? Jones said. ?(Smiling) It?s nice just to be noticed. I?m still holding my options and seeing how things [play out].?

Jones did hint to liking the Buckeyes. Not because of the pipeline to Columbus from Glenville, but because of what they could do for the 6-foot-4, 325-pound Jones.

Not really sure of this Glenville to OSU pipeline they speak of.

Only players I can recall from Glenville that became Buckeyes were:

Whitner, Smith, Ginn, Terry, O'Neal, Small, Hines, Jones, Browning, Bryant, Bogard, Hiley, Hall, Newsome, Rose, Martin.

Considering that the 2014 class looks to be a pretty small class with a ton of top talent from all over the country looking to get in, Marcelys and hopefully Lattimore might both be wise to break from the old Glenville tradition of announcing late.

OT Jones wants to go back to Ohio State
October, 7, 2012
By Brad Bournival | ESPN.com

Marcelys Jones (Cleveland/Glenville) has seen Ohio State fans at their best. At least, the 6-foot-4, 325-pound offensive tackle thought he had.

On hand with teammates Christopher Worley and Marshon Lattimore -- all have Ohio State offers -- the junior was amazed by what he saw in the Buckeyes? 63-38 win over Nebraska. The three had been there before, taking in the season opener against Miami (Ohio), but what happened Saturday blew him away.

?That atmosphere at the Miami game wasn?t that intense,? Jones said. ?For Nebraska, it was really intense. ?The crowd and the coaches were great. You could tell there wasn?t panic [early] when they were down. Coach [Urban] Meyer gave them a chance to redeem themselves.?

Can Urban Keep the Cleveland Glenville Pipeline Flowing?
By Michael Chung

No school has been more famous for producing Buckeyes over the last decade than Cleveland?s Glenville High School. It has often been referred to as the ?pipeline to Ohio State? or the ?Cleveland-Glenville Pipeline? since Jim Tressel became the head coach in Columbus more than 11 years ago.

With names like Troy Smith, Ted Ginn Jr. and Donte Whitner having played in the NFL, not to mention a number of Buckeyes on the current roster hailing from Ted Ginn Sr.?s house, it is not a stretch to call it the I-71 South pipeline to Ohio State.

The Buckeyes need offensive linemen and the Tarblooders have a highly coveted one for the 2014 in Marcelys Jones. Standing 6-5 and weighing 325 pounds, Jones is a man among boys on the football field.

He already holds an offer from Ohio State and Indiana, and Jones recently gave us insight into his recruiting, as well as a behind the scenes glimpse at his coach, Ted Ginn Sr., who is the godfather of the pipeline.

Ozone: When did you receive the offer?

Jones: Coach (Stan) Drayton told me the 21st Sept. It was a great feeling. I was expecting an offer but not so soon.

Ozone: Tell me about Ted Ginn Sr., what is he like? Does he encourage players to look at OSU?
