Good to hear.
Yep...he walked off under his own power and wasn't limping.
The fact that Reid Fragel was able to go from second string TE to possibly an all-B1G right tackle in about 9 months is nothing short of amazing. What a great job Coach Warriner, the S&C staff, and Reid have done. Wish we had him for 1 more year.
Outstanding season for Reid. I hope this season has made him some money in the pro's.
Who do you guys think fills the gap next season? The core group returns, and it's always tough to figure out the o-line. Does Decker move to LT and Mewhort go to RT? Dodson? Just curious what the board thinks of this.
Will be interesting to see if Hall or Norwell decides to move on....doesn't seem advisable, but there has been some chatter.
I would think Mewhort stays at LT after a solid season and Decker slides in at RT. The only thing that changes that is if Chase Farris just needs to be on the field b/c he is that good...Wariner made a comment about him being the most athletic OL on the team and the kid is huge. If Farris sees the field, maybe Mewhort moves back inside and replaces Hall or Norwell if one of them leaves.
Dodson is still probably a ways off, especially sitting most of the year out with an injury.
Would be ridiculous for either of them to leave early. Offensive guards are not positions that go high in the NFL draft.
Was sorry to see Reid not honored by Big Ten last night. He was certainly deserving of recognition. His play this season was a big part of our going 12-0. He was as good of a right tackle as I saw in the league this season.
He's going to turn some heads at workouts... beast of an athlete and, if nothing else, he's a mountain of a man even amongst other huge dudes
I think Decker probably slides right in at RT...
The only way I could see it differently is if Chase Farris is too good to keep off the field and he goes to LG and Norwell moves out to RT....
Or, if Evan Lisle comes right in and is better than Decker, but that's not likely..
Reid looks like a draft-able prospect on the O-line for me. We'll find out, but in the 1 year timeline he had to get prepared he did tremendous.
The fact he could serve as a tight end in a pinch can't hurt Reid's draft status.
