Neville Gallimore (DT Dallas Cowboys)

Gallimore in Ohio
The Athens at Steubenville game is not the only game of great interest the Buckeye commitments will be involved in this weekend. Cleveland St. Ignatius hosts Canada Prep Football Academy on Saturday night. The game features Ohio State defensive end commitment Dre’Mont Jones and Buckeye 2016 offensive tackle target Liam Eichenberg for St. Ignatius, and defensive tackle Neville Gallimore for Canada Prep Football Academy.

I will be at that game on Saturday night and will be posting updates from the game on the thread I start later today featuring Buckeye commitments in action this weekend. After the game I intend to talk to the three star prospects.

And speaking of Jones, I spoke with the future Buckeye on Friday night and one of the things I asked him about was Eichenberg. Of course there has been a lot of talk about Eichenberg and Notre Dame. And while Jones agreed Eichenberg is interested in the Fighting Irish, he said Eichenberg is also “definitely interested in Ohio State.” Jones said he doesn’t bother Eichenberg in regards to promoting Ohio State too much to him, but he does “hit him up” sometimes when it comes to eventually becoming a Buckeye.

NEVILLE GALLIMORE A LONG SHOT?
If there's one position of "concern" as I look at the 2015 recruiting class, it's defensive tackle.Neville Gallimore, the Canadian prospect who remains right at the top of Ohio State's wish list, will officially visit Florida State this weekend. It will be his second official visit (he visited Oklahoma earlier in the year), and he's scheduled to be in Columbus when the Buckeyes host Michigan later this season. I had the chance to talk to one source who's spent some time talking to Gallimore recently. On the surface, it doesn't sound good, but there's always more to the story.

"Gallimore, wow, what a great kid," a source shared with 11W. "It's nice to chat with someone that open and candid, a big-time player and prospect who isn't so focused on himself. He's almost naive, but he's so genuine and sincere with everything he says. Right now, he said he's definitely leaning towards Oklahoma, and some of that is the fact he's been there for an official, but it's also because it's kind of a small town feel. He liked that."

What about the Buckeyes?

"I think Ohio State has always done a 'good' job recruiting him," the source continued. "He really likes Larry Johnson, Sr. but I don't see a connection with anyone else at Ohio State yet. I know he roomed with Jashon Cornell at The Opening, but he's not had any real contact with Buckeye commitments since then. That official visit in November is going to be huge. He's a kid who doesn't have any pre-existing notions about anything, so they'll get the chance to really impress him."
Just get him on campus...

+147 in the latest Rivals rankings. Now #72.

Canada has been steadily gaining traction as a Division I talent producer. Gallimore is the best prospect to come out of that country in the last decade, at least. Physically, he is ready right now to play at the college level and he plays with strength that belies his age. They list his 40 time at 4.7 and watching him play, I cannot raise issue with that. He is an explosive interior defensive lineman. -- Helmholdt
