Three bowl games over being coached by a guy who can get his guys millions at the next level? Thats his loss.
NCAA: National Communists Against Athletes

Statements like this rise after every recruit that belts elsewhere

BOB The Knob has never been a head coach at the college or NFL level

and has ZERO track record of being a stud at developing college players for the NFL.....and really what did he really do in the NFL? he inherited Tom Brady and an explosive offense, he did not develop it.

try telling these guys that though

Different from the RoBOT's appeal. http://www.centredaily.com/2012/08/07/3290516/former-penn-state-players-also.html

Is there a third one?
Evidence doesn't support many of the Freeh findings, the players' letter says, including "the determination that at Penn State the 'football program was held in higher esteem than the values of the institution, the values of the NCAA, the values of higher education, and most disturbingly the values of human decency.'"

"By these unsupported findings, the (a)ppellants have been forever branded as somehow contributing to a 'culture' on campus that enabled these unlawful acts against children to continue," the players' filing says. "Meaning no disrespect to the victims of abuse, these findings are unfair and they are wrong."
I wonder if they understand at all that culture of relevance to the NCAA is the one that exists among those contracted with Penn State - coaches, staff, administrators, and board. That's the group whose actions lead to sanctions. Player actions only lead to sanctions indirectly; what matters to the NCAA is whether school reps knew, would have known if they had followed proper compliance policies, and what they did upon discovering the problem. Same applies to Sandusky; his crimes are not in NCAA's purview, but the school response to them most certainly was.

Seems to me the only legitimate "culture" gripe the players could have would be to claim that the culture set by school reps did not reach the players - exactly the opposite point a letter complaining about the NCAA actually makes - and ask the NCAA to help make it clear that sanctions address administrators' actions, not players'. To really make a statement that they were not part of the administration's culture of non-compliance and win-at-all-costs, the players would need to denounce the actions of the coaches and administrators that let Sandusky abuse children for so many years, state that the players themselves have a strong interest in maintaining a culture of compliance, and do something to illustrate that commitment. This wouldn't likely change the NCAA sanctions, which are geared at the school, but if the players are really concerned about how they are perceived, well, it would do wonders for that.

The former players say in their letter to the NCAA that they're acting on behalf of all players and coaches who were part of the football program between 1998 and 2011 — the years the NCAA vacated the Nittany Lions' wins.
It's almost amusing how on the one hand you have a subset of BOT members complaining to the NCAA because they disagree with their group, and on the other hand a subset of players complaining to the NCAA because they disagree for their group.

so they don't have a cult like following for football.

yet unlike any other school that has ever been hit with sanctions, there has already been THREE separate groups filing an appeal?

really?!!?
Jesus! even the fucktards at Bama didn't do dumb shit like this when they got slammed for buying Albert Means.

what's next, a groupf High School students appealing because they'll never get to watch a bowl game while they're attending Ped. St.?

But Bill Belichick's assistants have such a huge track record of success away from the Patriots!

Not sure if it was posted in here yet...but former PSU players are appealing the NCAA to vacate wins :slappy:

Not sure how much this has been discussed in this thread, but how much of the backlash and lawsuits do you think are attributable to the NCAA taking away 409? I feel like the NCAA could have given stronger scholarship cuts and a longer bowl ban, possibly even a multi-year death penalty, and many would have gladly taken it to protect Dear Leader's precious wins record. Just another reason to nuke it all and start from scratch.
