Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Plus there's the whole issue of Penn St. not even having a compliance office for the athletic dept, and certainly nothing involving football went past Joe. That alone should have been enough to hammer them, and that seems to get forgotten rather quickly by a lot of people.

This makes the most sense. There's a kind of Leona Helmsley, "Compliance is for the little people," quality to it.

What I find curious is that an institution whose function is to regulate and monitor athletic programs was the first to use the indictment and trial of Sandusky and the Freeh Report to punish administrators and Joe Paterno. The Big Ten followed up the NCAA's actions by imposing a $13M fine. Shouldn't that have been the role of the American Association of Universities, the Big Ten's Consortium and the Middle States Association?

To my knowledge, only Middle States has acted, threatening to pull PSU's accreditation and placing them on probation. By having the NCAA taking the lead the case appears to turn on football and not on the failure of education professionals to follow through on their mandated obligations to report and investigate child abuse.

There still is a federal Clery Act investigation that I believe hasn't been concluded. There's not a lot of transparency in the AAU, but as long as ped state's research profile and faculty quality don't slip, I don't think they're in danger of being booted. If the cultists take control of the BoT though, all bets might be off. That, however, could take several years.

I've come to believe that JoePed was such an all-consuming megalomaniac who had come to consider his 'grand experiment" and "success with honor" bullshit to be so important that it wasn't worth jeopardizing over the victims or whatever people are calling them.

The cult is strong.

A neutral sports forum I go on has a few Penn State fans but nothing major. On the College Football board I have sometimes made references to Ped State, ect. but nothing ever attacking Penn State fans.

Well there was a thread to describe your school in one word. I had put something like Shower and Penn State.

Today I get a message from a mod that this is my last warning. Anything negative towards them and I'l get a multiple day ban. I was stunned. This forum you can pretty much say anything. I can't even count the number of Urban Meyer heartattack jokes.

They are freaking censoring the web now. Those fuckers make me mad. Sorry for the rant need to get it out. Fuck Penn state

I'd underscore that it happened in Athletic Department facilities and it was Athletic Department employees who shirked their responsibilities -- specifically so that they could continue winning athletic games.
Threatening accreditation would make sense for UNC's situation imo (fraudulent classes and degrees), but for Penn State seems to fit the excuse people want to use for NCAA's infractions... ie: punishing people who didn't do anything wrong. It wasn't a Professor that failed to do something. Why punish students and faculty for the Athletic Department's failures.
Losing their share of the bowl profits seems like a fair punishment.
I'm not sure AAU or CIC even have methods of penalizing institutions (beyond kicking them out of the group) ? CIC is about facilitating cooperation between members on research, and AAU is a lobbyist group for the biggest players in federal research grants.

That's just my opinion though.

Rather in the same way that one can click on the comments on a story about the scandal, and there will be a stream of copy-and-paste responses reiterating the same mind-numbing BS they've spewed since this started. It would seem there are people employed to do nothing but surf the web for any reference to them and then dropping in the same tired replies.

As time passes, I fear these relentless freaks may be the only ones still speaking about the situation. Taking a page from Hitler: If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.

Have you even read the Freeh Report?

One time I said that the cultists on BWI would look for a loophole and find a way to get Sandusky's case switched to "not guilty". This would force the NCAA to give them their wins back. They'd do anything for those wins. Apparently, I was wrong, because Penn State got their wins back, and they're still looking for loopholes to get Sandusky free.

Ray Blehar bringing the cultist mindset to a whole new level... wow

The only rape in the case occurred anywhere from four to six years after the 2001 incident and it happened in Sandusky's home. Had nothing to do with PSU.

Secondly, if you believe that having someone fellate you is the same as having a penis shoved up your anus, then we don't live in the same world.

The outrage over the Sandusky grand jury presentment was ALL about the ANAL RAPE in the Victim 2 case. That's all anyone talked about and that one incident morphed into Sandusky being allowed to rape children on campus.

It's not the wins...I mean it was, don't get me wrong, but it's the whole Grand Experiment, and the wins were only part of it. They know that the reputation is irreversibly harmed and that the GE is considered to be a complete myth now to everyone outside the compound...and that the only way that would change is if the entire thing was shown to be entirely made up. Ergo...

Why not name University Park Airport after Joe? With all the talk ofReply

flight delays due to the storm, and the other thread about airports, the thought of changing the name of University Park Airport to Paterno Airport popped into my head. Joe did Penn State on the map, so it would be a fitting tribute. If the subject has been raised here before, I apologize.

Bold/ital/ul mine. Nope not a cult at all. penn state exists solely because of joesus and all glory must go to the godcoach.

Another day and another rage from the Cult. The reason for the latest tantrum? The Daily Collegian (PSU student newspaper) has reported that school President Eric Barron downplayed the importance of the Freeh Report nearly three years after Freeh's investigation, stating that, "The Freeh report, I don't think, has a great deal of significance for the institution at this point in time."

Oh, and pay special attention to the post by "LafayetteBear." The Daily Collegian also ran a column on "ass eating" in the same edition?

Art: "Horse's behind."

Mixolydian: Wow, thanks for making me sick."

massimoMancaII: "Idiot"

KC-KS-Lion: "Dr. Barron of Integrity...promises, promises."

Western PA: "Turns out his hands in air was his general approach: surrender"

Bushwood CC: "Yep, Barron and Barbour are two peas in a pod - brainless, talentless, narcissistic, feckless BOTurd shills. Have to run for the
sick0020.r191677.gif
bucket every time these self-interested, self-promoting cowards talk about what great leaders they are and leadership they are providing. Disgraceful pukes who no more understand, respect or represent the terms "We Are" than do corrupt POS like Tom Corbett."

jerseylion109: "Embarassing...report cost about 8 million dollars and has led to over 100 million dollars in other expenses and these idiots on the bot can't even find the time to review it or discuss it."

bjf1984: "A clueless, bloviating, disingenuous puppet.

Just another whore......for $6 million over 5 years.......that scoundrel sold his soul. At least he got a good price for it - since he wasn't using it anyway.

It will be interesting to see which trustees hold his feet to the fire.

It is a crime."

Lion_Backer: "More incoherent babble by the hands up puppet ....."

91Joe95: "Someone should tattoo 409 across all their foreheads."

LafayetteBear: "Seems somehow appropriate that that puff piece on Barron was published in the same issue of The Collegian as a column on "ass eating." I kid you not."

pnnylion: "The bastardo has to go. Question is, how do we rid ourselves of these fat f-cks? Do you look at them? Sickening, fat pieces of crap. Obese liars. Fat off us, fat off our University.

They make me want to puke."
