Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

While I get the reference, throwing Kennedy in there kinda softens the blow imo.
JFK was very flawed, but he was an actual victim of assassination... JoePa was no victim.

Somehow I think more of the Pope or Dalai Lama... but some people probably lose their heads over that. Especially the latter.

Well, Pedterno is replacing Nikita Khrushchev in the song lyric, although Pedturdno may be closer to Stalin in charm.

Well, Pedterno is replacing Nikita Khrushchev in the song lyric, although Pedturdno may be closer to Stalin in charm.

The original lyric is Mussolini, not Khrushchev. I think the most appropriate lines from "Cult of Personality" regarding Joesus are these two:

"I exploit you, still you love me
I tell you one and one makes three"

Those lines should be followed by a snippet of Joesus talking about Success With Honor.

http://bwi.forums.rivals.com/threads/rutgers-culture.14751/

The thread starts off talking about Rutgers and how they have a bad culture. I guess one player gets arrested, and therefore they're bad people. So Rutgers fans come in and compare that to an entire department that covered up for a pedophile. So the Penn State group comes to the rescue. Finally, in post 40, we get this:

Instead, the new procedures are to inform the athletic director of the school when somebody on your staff comes to you with information regarding a former employee and abuse of children. If only this procedure were in place in 2001 we wouldn't be in the situation we are in today. What in the world took them so long?

I don't get it. Is he making fun of Penn State? He seems to be arguing in favor of Penn State and Joe Paterno and the cult and all that is good and right. But then that paragraph. Does he seem the absurdity of bringing this information to the athletic director? I know we've gone over this a million times in this thread, but what kind of policy is that? Go tell your athletic director. Even "go tell your manager" is silly. Ugh - I don't know why I let this bother me so much.
1. Mike McQueary should be kicked in the nuts every hour, on the hour, for the rest of his life. Get in there and stop whatever it is you saw, you dingle-turd! You used that as blackmail to get an assistant coaching job.
2. Either Joe Paterno needs to be shot in the face (yes, I know he's dead - dig him up and shoot him in the face, anyway), or whoever wrote that "Go tell your athletic director" policy needs to choke to death on a 50-pound pumpkin. Even if its decided that the latter happens, Joe Paterno should be re-animated for one day - just long enough for him to read statements from all of the victims (yes, that's what I want to call them). He can see that sometimes, following the rules isn't enough.

Ugh.. /end rant

Doing things the right way... No roster management here...

Penn State dismisses CB following drug and alcohol incident

" Police charged Davis with possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Both of these offenses are considered misdemeanors. However, court documents also show Davis was cited for purchasing alcoholic beverages as a minor. This is considered a summary offense....Davis is still enrolled at Penn State for his senior year. Davis appeared in half of Penn State’s games last season and likely would have been a reserve defensive back this season...

I heard this is all smoke and mirrors to deflect away that the player's girlfriend was down right ugly, so therefore he had to be released from the team. Franklin don't play that ugly girlfriend thing, and neither should those that surround him (or so I heard from his mouth while coaching Vandy). :pimp:

I just went to BWI to see how they'd react to one of their players acting without honor. I didn't see anything about it. But I did find this one:

http://bwi.forums.rivals.com/threads/just-watched-happy-valley-pissed-off-now.14772/

Some bloke is pissed because he watched "Happy Valley", a documentary about the football culture at Penn State. It's another one of those, "It doesn't show the truth I believe in, therefore, it isn't the real truth," things. Anyway, this post caught my eye:

What is done in the dark will be brought to the light. With a crew that was raised on success with honor, this will not pass. They messed with the wrong school. Kill em all and let god sort em out.

At what point does this become a threat? I guess, in order for any charges to be brought, people would have to figure out who "they" are. But still, if anything ever happens to any high-ranking people in the NCAA, investigators are going to be busy just checking out BWI.

I found this article on Audibles.

Original thread: http://pennstate.scout.com/forums/1395-audibles-board/13871682-another-hackenberg-slam?s=157
Article: http://www.dailylocal.com/sports/20150524/penn-state-fans-live-in-utopia-and-hackenberg-is-the-mayor

First, being an alleged “Ohio State-lover” wouldn’t necessarily qualify one as a “Penn State-hater.” I mean, Penn State isn’t a rival of the Buckeyes. They’re not Michigan. They’re not Michigan State. They’re not Wisconsin. On the Buckeyes’ rivalry scale the Nittany Lions reside somewhere between Illinois and Purdue.

...

I’ll mention that Hackenberg recorded a QBR of 56.6 during his freshman season — good enough for 75th best in the nation. Hockensmith wants me to mention Hackenberg’s “sparkling” 339-yard, three-touchdown performance against Wisconsin, but failed to provide one drop of ink on his 13-of-35, 176-yard masterpiece against Kent State.

...

Since 2004, there have been seven quarterbacks drafted first overall. The average QBR of those players coming out of college was 83.0, with the worst being Jameis Winston, who recorded a 74.5 last season — ranking 18th in the nation.

Hackenberg had a 35.7 QBR last season — 114th overall.

Wait. There are people somewhere dumb enough to think Hackenburg will be the #1 overall pick in the next draft? Enough people that it warrants an article telling them how stupid they are? I'm probably higher on Hackenburg as a pro than most non-cult members, but shit man....Do one rational thing, Penn State fans. Just one. I'd love to see it in my lifetime.
