PG Shannon Scott (Long Island Nets - NBA G-League)

After a few games with poor assists numbers, Scott dished 12 and 9 in the last 2 games. He is back on track to beat OSU all time record in one season.

Update: 2 easy victories and Scott staying on course to break the record:

Countdown to record after 16 games: 248-121= 127

Average is 7.56 and he is currently ranked third in the national stats

Just an update; Scott is now at 6.2 APG after 26 games. If we play 36 games this year, 10 more games puts him with 62 to go with his season to date of 161 which would put him at 223...he'd need to average 8.7 if we have 10 more games. That would be good enough for 2nd all time though for an OSU single season total.

*Also, his 6.2 season average would be 2nd all time to.....Kelvin Ransey's 6.3 from 1980. #TheMoreYouKnow

I saw today that Scott is ranked #58 in the latest DraftExpress mock draft. I always thought in that 2011 OSU class Scott looked the most like a potential NBA player with his great speed, quickness and OK size/build for his position. He did finish #2 in OSU history in steals and #3 in career assists.

Saw a mock draft a while back and it showed Shannon going late in the second round which sort of surprised me. I did not think that he would be drafted but I cannot remember who predicted him being drafted.

Good for Scott that he will get a chance. He isn't out of place athletically in that league, shooting ability obviously is his weakness. If Toronto just wants a pure PG to be their 3rd point off the bench, he might be able to make that team. Problem is there is a premium on scoring.
