QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

QB is the most important position on the field and we have JT Barrett returning next year.

Just remember that when all the 2016 prognostication starts and they are fellating Harbaugh and whoever his first year starter will be.

JT's leadership and experience will be key to a 10+ win season next year (with so much young talent surrounding him).

I hate to say this but JT untimely DUI and suspension came at a very bad time and disrupted the jelling of the offense under his undisputed leadership. Apologizing to his team while a nice gesture, unfortunately can not fix the lost time and lost opportunity. He now needs to make up for it with great leadership going into the bowl game, in the off season, and next fall. This is not saying that JT is responsible for the MSU loss, but he does not get suspended, plays well up to the MSU game, and the coaches would probably have been willing to take more risk and attack MSU with the pass. and open up the offense the way they did last year. It probably did not help.

BATTLING BACK FROM INJURY, PRESSING TO PLAY PERFECT PREVENTED J.T. BARRETT FROM SEIZING OHIO STATE STARTING QUARTERBACK JOB SOONER

J.T. Barrett was in the process of finishing a long talk with his father, when the elder Barrett said a phrase he'd repeated many times before. Finally, it began to resonate with the Ohio State quarterback who failed to win back his job after enduring a broken ankle.

"My dad would talk to me all the time, 'How about you have fun?'" Barrett said Tuesday.

Barrett lost the Ohio State starting quarterback job to Cardale Jones out of fall camp in August, still recovering from the injury he suffered nine months earlier. It was a bit peculiar at the time, but the normally cool, calm and collected redshirt sophomore admitted he wasn't in a place mentally to recapture the magic that had led him to account for a Big Ten record 45 touchdowns in 2014.

"It was one of those deals, trying to be perfect or trying to make a crazy play and force things instead of being myself and playing relaxed," Barrett said. "I think it did affect me at first, but I learned just to ignore that and it turned out OK."

Barrett eventually fully seized the starting job back from Jones in the Penn State game Oct. 17, even keeping it despite a one-game suspension for a Halloween OVI citation. Two weeks prior to the game with the Nittany Lions, the switch flipped in his head.

"Just got to the point where I was like, 'You know what, I'm not playing very good.' Just being honest with myself," Barrett said. "Cardale was playing pretty good. So it was just like, 'How about you start playing pretty well for yourself?'

I just checked the Tim Beck thread and it doesn't say anything about him getting [Mark May] canned. So you heard Beck is out?
No, JT will be a captain and say his headset is messing up like the Belichick effect in Foxborough.

And Urban is going to chat with Chip Kelly over the New Year holiday. Assuming Kelly goes to the Titans but you never know.

Haha... if we throw for 200 yards I'd be surprised. Can't and won't throw the ball when we are running for 300.

I just was talking about the parallels of using a Fiesta Bowl victory over ND to set up a Heisman campaign like Smith.

I expect this game to be a run heavy game with Zeke going for 200+. But there is a chance with a depleted Irish secondary we see JT to max his opportunities and showcase his arm.

Makes me sad watching Houston play... he has Greg Ward playing like Heisman winner. Yet our QB drops back and looks confused now (even though he looked lights out last year)

I really think play action should be wide open all day long after Zeke gets lathered up. JT can be very accurate when he's on and they have no chance of guarding Braxton, Thomas and Marshall with that secondary. Just depends on if Warriner wants to show off or not and blast em.
