QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

No comments on JT after the VaTech win, but his demeanor and leadership on the sideline last night ... no one should wonder why he's the first sophomore captain in Ohio State football history.

Love this young man. And what a "backup" QB! It's something when we have the best two quarterbacks in the league ... and quite possibly the best two in the entire NCAA.

Despite what Fast Twitch Herbie said last night, I think JT gets the start against Hawaii. Just a gut feeling I have.

I would tend to agree. Cardale looked good but I think you need to let JT get some first half reps too. JT brings an added dimension to this offense that Cardale doesnt. Granted Cardale throws a better deep ball but until we can find a replacement for Devin Smith, how many of those are going to be caught? Plus with JT you can run a more efficient option game. Now this doesnt mean I think JT starts the rest of the year, I just think that they need to give him some game time early on in the year in case something would happen.

JT looked like the better QB in his only real offensive series last night. I don't think Cardale's deep ball is really that much better, sure it might be more of a lazer but JT can put it right where he wants it too. 50 yard pass in the air against MSU. Honestly we will never need anything longer than that.

Not sure I'd say that Cardale's first 3 series were just as dominant.
