QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

Giuton brought a balance to the offense that Brax couldn't quite duplicate. Then again, Kenny had weaker teams to light up versus the schedule Brax played. All I know is that JT was able to move the team against our guys in the Spring and Fall.
Yeah that's exactly my thought process as well. Is JT better? We will see. However, we do know what Braxton brings and with the POSSIBILITY of JT being a better thrower I think it is generating such more excitement with being balanced.

I believe JT will be better than Guiton, 1000%. But by that I mean over his career at any given point. I'm not so sure JT during his RS Freshman season will be better than Guiton during his RS Senior season though. I'd probably say no.

But I have a lot of confidence in him. Mainly from what we've been hearing, but really other than limited HS film and the spring game, that's all you can go off of.

You have to remember Guiton had 1 years in Meyers offense in total before last season, which is the same as JT. Guiton didn't see the field at all really other than Purdue as a Junior.

I hope you are very WRONG upnorth.

Agreed tho buckeye86. If JT can make the right calls on zone read and run a good option then we will be fine

You're right, so they essentially had the same amount of time with Urban before they played (technically JT had more since 1) he's been here 1.5 years vs Guiton's 1 year and 2) Guiton had essentially zero 1st team reps that entire year while JT has split 1st reps evenly for an entire spring and a decent chunk of fall camp). So maybe JT will be closer to Guiton than I expect, but that wasn't meant to be a bad thing. Let's say this year JT is 90% of Guiton as a RS Senior. I'd take that in a heart beat.

Guiton had a composure and maturity that came with his age regardless of how long he spent w/Urban.
Maybe JT doesnt need that time, though i doubt the staff would be shielding him from the media if he was already Guiton's equal.

Did a great job with the ball today other than the int and a few misreads on option plays. But overall I see great freshman play, with good ball location. He outperformed my expectations and by the time this offense evolves, it will be scary good. A lot of skill around JT to make plays after the catch.
