QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

It's a bit depressing to think that Barrett's chances at winning a Heisman might not be pinned on what he does, but what the OSU run defense does in the B1G title game. I don't have high hopes right now after seeing Langford and Cobb shed piles to repeatedly turn 2 yard losses into 15 yard gains.

I'm hoping this defense matches up better against an edge/speed runner than the 2 power runners... but not holding my breath.

Re JT and Heisman, I'm fine if he's not invited. Let Mariota do the award circuit before playoffs kick off. If we do make it in, Oregon in the 100th Rose Bowl is a likely opponent.

[edited out CoY stuff for that thread]

J.T. Barrett hearing from multiple schools
March, 9, 2012
By Damon Sayles
When it comes to recruiting, ESPNU 150 Watch List quarterback J.T. Barrett (Wichita Falls, Texas/Rider) keeps his philosophies as simple as possible. If a team wants what he wants, consider that team a favorite of his.
Currently, Barrett has 10 offers, and every school that has offered shares his philosophy.
?I?m looking for people who have the belief of winning a national championship, not just a conference championship,? Barrett said. ?I play football to win it all. If you?re not talking about winning a national championship, we?re not on the same page.?

Barrett also has a crack at 3000 passing, 1000 rushing, and 50 TDs. He'd be the first player in CFB history to achieve that.

Manziel, VY, Kaepernick, and LeFevour have hit the 3000/1000 combo, with Manziel narrowly missing the TD mark with 47 TDs. Tebow hit 3000 passing and 55 TDs his So year, but finished with 895 rushing.

For everyone's info, Barrett's current totals are 2,356 passing, 771 rushing, 38 TDs (29/9). If he maintains his per-game average in all three areas, he'll be over the 3000/1000 mark after the CCG with 49 TDs. That's not including the playoffs/bowl game.

Let's not forget though...

...it's a 2 man race for Heisman between the guy whose numbers JT's right alongside and the guy whose team JT's going to whoop up on the B1GCCG.
