If I understand it, it's a timed test and if you run out of time, you're out all the questions you didn't get to. If someone doesn't take the test seriously, it's easily conceivable that he's not going to do very well.

Here is the quote from the linked material:
"Good player. Just the stuff they tell you about him, you worry about his work ethic. He had some stuff off the field."

What exactly is this "stuff they tell you about him"? I get the feeling this whole piece was lazily written and implies more insider knowledge than the author actually has.

Well, there was the bar incident last summer. There were also some controversial tweets a couple of years ago openly questioning why he wasn't getting the ball (2011, IIRC). I don't see either as deal breakers, nor should they hurt his stock in any way, IMO. Most evaluators expect him to be the first back off the board. I think he's gonna have the best NFL career of any Buckeye back since Eddie. His style is perfect for today's NFL.

He's almost a carbon-copy of Eddie Lacy, including nearly identical combine performances. Lacy ran for almost 1200 yards and 11 TDs last year. No reason El Guapo can't match that given the chance.

* edit-- Lacy's pre-draft measurables were from bammers pro-day, but they're almost identical.

Sure, those things occurred. I just have difficulty relating them to work ethic... Unless the author is saying there are multiple issues, namely work ethic AND off-the-field. In which case, he hasn't provided any indication of why someone should "worry about his work ethic."

Ah, missed you were pointing to the "work-ethic" stuff. Yeah, I've never heard anything regarding that, and his career trajectory in C-bus indicates otherwise. Just more uninformed nonsense made up by somebody with a platform.

Two totally different backs obviously but does Moreno remove the necessity of taking a RB in the first couple rounds? I don't think so since their styles are totally different and Moreno is getting older, but that is just my outside opinion. I also thought he could end up in Cleveland but I'm no sure now that they picked up Tate.

Other possible destinations in my mind could be the Titans, Giants, Jaguars, Atlanta, and maybe Buffalo. I highly doubt he is available in the late second but I would love to see the Bengals take him if he is available...BJGE isn't getting any younger and his production is starting to go down significantly. We could use a power guy to go with Bernard.

To San Fran with the 24th pick of the 2nd round, 57th overall. Hyde was the third running back selected, although the first was drafted only three spots earlier.

The Bengals had the opportunity to take Hyde, but went with Jeremy Hill (running back from LSU) instead.

Which was pretty silly of the Bengals. Pass on the hometown kid with a ton of production and little character issues. Draft a similar style back with decent production, and has narrowly avoided prison time. Then blame it on his lack of pass protection because he played in a spread offense. Hyde is a great pass protector.

All the way around it just made no sense to Jeremy Hill over Hyde.

That is what I do not get...he is clearly a pro-style back but adapted to change and still thrived. IMO, that is why he is even more valuable. Great runner but can pass protect and catch. Bengals were out of their minds for taking Hill over him. The only guess I have is that they see Hyde as a feature back that will want the ball all the time and we already have Gio...maybe Hill is more prone to understanding his role of spelling Gio more properly? Even though that is my guess, still a dumb pick.
