RB Carlos "El Guapo" Hyde (Official Thread)

No he didn't. Barring some miracle Hyde will be the feature back again next year and will get the bulk of the carries if he comes back. He's earned that.

Typical comment on here. I can't wait for the (insert name) next great whatever. Be content with what you have. The guy is pretty damned good at what he does. I'd love to see him in the scarlet and gray for another year.

i'm content. i'm looking at it rather objectively, actually.

per internet buzz, hyde submitted to see where he would fall for nfl draft. doesn't necessarily mean anything, but thinking about it, he might actually have less touches next year with hall back and a stable behind him.

Hall won't be a running back primarily next year and Hyde certainly won't be splitting the bulk of the carries with him.

They gave him a medical redshirt. No point applying for it if he isn't going to stay. Plus with 2 games, that's hardly enough to evaluate draft stock.

He applied for a medical RS. No word yet on if it has been approved by the NCAA. Barring something ridiculous from them, he should get it with no trouble. Wouldn't be shocked either way since this is the NCAA we're talking about.

It will be very interesting to see how the offensive staff finds ways to get 6 rbs carries. Hyde will be the man and get the first team carries. But after that it gets interesting. People are writing off hall like he wasnt our most consistent RB a few years ago, and could've been this year as well as played slot wr and special teams. Hall at 100% is very interesting and is as good if not better than the rest except Hyde, imo. But smith seems like he's turning the corner on his maturation and is running vicious like we all thought he could towards the end of the year. And being able to now catch the ball and cause mismatches puts a different wrinkle to his game. Smith running reminds me of a young Marco Murray
Dunn allows almost little drop off when he was called on this year, but may find time only from injuries. And we're all forgetting warren ball who is also very talented and has a year in the system. He should find pt only from injuries but he has great potential. Elliott may have to redshirt due to depth. A lot of talent, led by Hyde hopefully continuing his success from this year

He absolutely should submit his name to see what kind of grade they give him, and if the grade is high enough, he absolutely should declare.

Not that I wouldn't love to have him back to see what he can do with a full year and the further development of the offense, but he's a physical guy and he only has so many carries in the tank.

Agreed. If it doesn't hurt his current eligibility, and it's free, he'd be a goob NOT to see what his draft prediction is.
