RB Ezekiel Elliott (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Pro Bowl, All Pro, New England Patriots)

Is he not entitled to all of them?

Never said that. If you had a school that you grew up rooting for, that both your parents went to, would you commit to another school and then decide to visit at the last second? Like I said earlier, it's not the late visit that's confusing, it's the late visit to Missouri that's confusing.

Then be confused. Enough experts and people in the know have weighed in on this one to alleviate the concerns of even the biggest chicken littles.

Hopefully we get this guy... I wish the kid well where ever he goes as long as it's not scUM but i've been following Zeke for quite sometime and he seems like a great kid. Urban and the team will be just fine without him, but hopefully he helps get us a few B1G and National Championships.

This is the crazy part of recruiting. None of us should be surprised that another school is trying to flip one of our commited players. Hasnt urban done the same thing? I still think eazy e ends up with us. The soap opera that is recruiting is suspense filled, but we should out with the doom and gloom before we hear anything solid. If his own pops is saying that he doesn't know if the visit made a difference, then im cool with that.

I'm just surprised it's come this late in the game. Sure, recruiting lists are getting smaller and smaller for every school out there, but I would have thought he'd be hearing things from these schools more often if they were as interested as Ohio State. I'm still not that concerned about the thread title change on this one. He seems to be all Buckeye.

Not sure I have seen a single doom and gloom post, or one knocking EzE yet on here? Just because someone doesn't fall in line and say "He's 1 million% Buckeyez!!!" doesn't make their post doom and gloom. People are correctly observing that the timing is odd and you would think this visit would have come sooner. Plus it's out of the blue and in the world of recruiting, you can't just assume someone is locked up, especially when they are taking visits. Further, you wonder if EzE thinks that Dontre Wilson is a RB regardless of how the staff classifies him. I realize this is all conjecture, but so is assuming he is fully committed with no possibility of decommitment.

Regardless, I really feel it highly unlikely for EzE to decommit considering how hard he has recruited for us and for how long he has. However, I doubt the staff is going to treat him as the lock that most on here are suggesting...I fully expect them to knock his doors down until NLOID to get his signature.

I doubt Ezekiel flips, but it definitely isn't out of the realm of possibility. This seems to be the main drawback of going after "bigger fish" nationwide as opposed to taking mainly true, die-hard Buckeyes/Ohioans. Recruiting will be more fun with this new strategy, but the possibility of kids flipping to other schools will also have to be something we get used to.

EzE, Taivon and Jalin Marshall will make a very good core of playmakers. Hope to see them all in the class.

You're right, they're not taking it for granted. Ohio State was supposed to be in today to pay him a visit. I don't know if Urban can still pay him an in-home visit or if that has been used up, but I think that needs to happen. I think we've got a real fight on our hands for his signature.

I'd be disappointed in Eze flipped because he was one of the original pillars of the class and he can do a little bit of everything. Urbz needs the versatility. I'm sure there's a Mizzou pull, but this isn't 2007 and the luster is off the Pinkel plan. I think Eze sticks.

I doubt if a recruit as highly rated as eazy e was from ohio that he still wouldn't look around. The home town biase, imo isnt always going to work when teams from around the nation are going after them as well. Just because a kid is from a certain state doesn't necessarily make him a lock to osu or even a favorite.
And the timing means a little yes, but the kid is a teenager and chose to visit when he chose to visit. Not much more to it. It does raise a smidgen of concern but osu has been his favorite for a very long time. And im sure hes visited mizzou before, call me ridiculously optimistic.
And I definitely agree with your playmakers. They should be fun to watch.

It seems to me that our situation is a pretty good one to find ourselves in. There must be 90-100 schools out there that have no chance of fighting for the quality of talent that we are, let alone the quantity of talent UFM and staff are after.

As far as EZE goes, I'd give him and Vonn Bell the same advice. If you want to sit at home chanting SEC SEC SEC while the National Championship is being decided go for it. If you want to be able to say "I am one of the members of The Ohio State team that put an end to it", the choice becomes obvious.

Regardless of his final decision I wish him all the best.

GO BUCKS!!!!

A highly rated recruit from Ohio would likely still look around, but if he verbally committed to Ohio State I would venture that most of us would be more confident in receiving his signature (regardless of late visits to USC or wherever). All I'm saying is that it's better to be the hometown school than to have to fend off the hometown school.
