RB Ezekiel Elliott (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Pro Bowl, All Pro, New England Patriots)

There was talk in the LJ Scott thread of Eze surprising people with his power this year and I ran into him and Bosa Saturday night, Eze is a ball of muscle. He looks the part and I think we are all expecting big things from him this year, especially if our O-line can gel and mature quickly.

I have absolutely no concern that we don't have a power runner. Eze has speed and power aplenty. I expect him to be the best running back in the B1G this season.
That would mean he will be better than Melvin Gordon who had 1609 yds, 7.8 YPC and 12 TDs. Zeek will be running behind 4 new starters on the O Line and he will be sharing the ball with one of the most prolific running QBs in the country and must contend for possessions with many more offensive weapons than Wisky. If Zeke is the best RB in the BiG then we are guaranteed a spot in the playoff and he will be on the Heisman watch list for the 2015 season. So....I hope you are correct!

Watching the Clemson game reminded me how much I am going to miss Hyde but EzE may well make the tearful departure subtle and momentary. Great kid with a great family, works his tail off, and I think is the best blend of power, speed, and elusiveness that we have had on our roster since I have been a Buckeye fan. Obviously he has a LONG way to go to be placed in that category, I am just saying he has the most complete skill-set I have seen here.

Ohio State Buckeyes running back Ezekiel Elliott has surgery Saturday morning on wrist fracture

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State sophomore running back Ezekiel Elliott underwent surgery for a fractured wrist early Saturday morning, a source close to the situation told cleveland.com.

The source told cleveland.com that the fracture is minor and Elliott had a pin inserted. He's expected back in practice on Thursday, though contact could be limited.

Elliott's injury occurred Friday, but the continued to practice thinking it was a jam, the source said.

A former five-star prospect from the St. Louis area, Elliott was expected to be Ohio State's starting running back this year by replacing Carlos Hyde, who was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of last year's NFL Draft.

While Elliott is out recovering, Ohio State's running back competition will be interesting.

Freshman Curtis Samuel has earned praise from Urban Meyer after enrolling early in the spring, but seniors Rod Smith and redshirt sophomore Bri'onte Dunn could have the faster track to the field.

Smith ran with the first team on Saturday morning in Elliott's absence.

Stay tuned with cleveland.com for more on Elliott's injury.
