RB Jordan Hall (Official Thread)

All three deserve playing time. Smith has garnered a lot of respect.
Excellent point. If Braxton and Jordan are relatively healthy (read: healthy enough to play) we could have a 4-headed monster out of the backfield that can really wear down the defenses from here on out.

I'd rather not see Hall play again this year. I want him to try to get a medical RS. Suspensions and injuries have taken away the Jordan Hall that we saw in the return game his freshman and sophomore seasons. He doesn't have the size or speed of Hyde, and I haven't seen any of his elusiveness since his sophomore year. I think that he needs time to recover from his injuries, and another offseason to get back what he once had. I think that a strong season returning kicks and playing in the slot could put him on the radar of NFL GMs. I don't think he's on anyone's radar right now.

You're under the impression he'd want to stay another year though.

I have no impression one way or the other. I don't know the guy. I do think that it would be beneficial for him to stay another year, regardless of his path. Another year at Ohio State either puts him on the radar of NFL GMs, and/or it gets him another year closer to completing his college education (finishing his undergrad or start on a graduate degree).

Depth chart has Carlos Hyde OR Jordan Hall starting.

Was that a change (Hall being listed) from the previous week or two? I haven't been paying attention to the released depth chart from OSU.

I didn't hear Coach Meyer address Hall's injury Monday (but he did address Miller, Brown, Perry and Sabino).

That is an excellent question. I haven't really been paying attention to it either, I just had it sent to me this morning by a buddy who was excited about Jordan being back.

I looked and it hasn't changed. He's been listed as "OR" in previous weeks following his injury.

In that case...

frankly i don't know if i want him to stay another year. could limit the development of guys like smith, dunn, and ball

I wouldn't think Hall taking a medical redshirt would hinder their development, but I still think his presence could be beneficial for incoming frosh like Eze and possibly Jalin who are likely to play a similar role in the Offense.

Still, I'm not yet convinced he won't come back to play this season.

NEXT YEAR IS NOT A DEVELOPMENTAL YEAR!!!

You have to be crazy not to want him as part of the 2013 Buckeyes. A player like him could be the difference between 14-0 or not.

As I said earlier, I believe Jordan can contribute next year. However, the team's success next year, in my imo, will be determined more by how the defense comes along. With or without Jordan I expect the offense to do well. We lose a ton on defense, hope those young pups are figuring it out.

Personally, I am putting more hope in a 2014 title run, assuming Braxton is still here.

I 100% want J Hall back for a MNC run.. BUT.. EVERY YEAR IS A DEVELOPMENTAL YEAR FOR PLAYERS
Okay, don't take what I said out of context.

2013 should not be a year where you put the development of a young player for future years ahead of the success of a Senior who could help us win now.

Of course we are always developing players, but I still want the best 22 for next year on the field.
