RB Michael Weber (New Jersey Generals)

I would think if Mike is up for it, take the redshirt. We have a few backs that can play to a high enough level if Zeke has to come out, save the man another year to get bigger faster and stronger.

Beanie Wells - Left for draft after Junior year
Carlos Hyde - Left for draft after his senior year, but played only sparingly his frosh year
Zeke Elliott - pretty much a lock to leave after his redshirt sophomore year

Even if he were to play in only a few games this season, he can still stay for three more full seasons, ala Hyde. Eeven if redshirted this year, and then blew up in 2106 and/or 2017, he'll probably bail after his third year like Wells and Elliott.

Building off my above post:

Beanie Wells - left after true junior year
Carlos Hyde - left after true senior year, but only had 24 carries in his true freshman year, so we got three great years out of him despite "burning" his redshirt
Zeke Elliott - will likely leave after his true junior year, despite getting only 30 carries in his true freshman year, so our "burning" his redshirt isn't going to keep him here past three years

The bigger question is where is he on the pecking order if he were to burn his redshirt? In other words, if Zeke goes down would he be behind Dunn (and presumably Samuel if he goes over to RB)? If he's the 4th string RB, it's probably a moot point. BUT if somehow Zeke and Samuel go down, I agree. Have to burn it.

All good points. If coach needs him to be a RB from here through the rest of the season it will

a) be an important game
2) means he is bringing something to the table that Dunn or Samuel don't bring. Or at the least he brings something solid and coach still wants Samuel on the field at the same time.
