RB Warren Ball (transfer to Akron)

I just wanted to throw this out there because I did this on one other occasion and happened to somehow guess right lol... I said before I thought Boom Herron's HS film was better than Brandon Saines Video, and I cannot help when I just watched the two films of Brionte's and Warrens to really feel Warren from what I saw on tape is more impressive to me. Don't get me wrong I think Brionte is going to be a good player, but when I watched the two I think Ball kept his feet moving better on contact, got in and out of his cuts more smoothly, showed better vision, and a little more burst as well.

I think we have two great players but I particularly will be paying close attention to Ball when he gets on campus

I had the same opinion...and I agree with you now as well.

There are quite a few people that think Ball > Dunn talent-wise (myself included), though most also factor heavily that Ball has had injury issues in the past and Dunn has had no such issues, despite carrying 30+ per game in high school.

Having both of them coming to the same team ups both of their values. Wiscy's stable of being able to use Monte Ball & James White interchangably like that in every game comes to mind.

Brionte is an absolute brute with good speed. Warren is shifty with good speed and power. Different types of running backs. If I had to pick a guy who I think has been more impressive, it's probably Dunn, but Ball is very close behind.

A comparison I could use is John Clay (Dunn) and Monte Ball (Warren Ball). Clay is a big bruiser and was a huge running back. I think Dunn could eventually be that type of back (hopefully not as fat) and M. Ball is a very shifty runner with excelent vision and good speed. Warren is probably a little taller, but I think their running styles are comparable.

Yeah, I just watched Warren's Senior highlights and was very impressed. His speed is obvious, but he has good moves, keeps those feet moving, and he isn't afraid to lower those shoulders when needed.

I look forward to seeing how Urban uses both him and Dunn (as well as our other RBs of course).

Dunn and Ball are two different types of runners. Dunn is a down Hill battering ram. A typical B10 RB. Ball is a shiftier, smooth, big back. I want to see how good each are at catching the football. Also, Ball needs to stay healthy. It will be fun to watch.

Here are some senior highlights I hadn't seen posted yet.

Again, I really love this kid's game and have since I first heard of him. Great vision and very tough to bring down. Great burst for a guy his size. He doesn't have blazing speed, but he does have good lateral quickness. The things that impress me the most about Warren is his balance and the fact that his feet never stop moving. He kind of reminds me of a taller Mark Ingram.

Looks like he put on some mass between his junior and senior season as well. I think he'll be a major player for Urban and this offense moving forward.

He has most definetely got bigger. I've always liked the Ingraham comparison. Violent, downhill runner that is not out to make friends. That burst through the hole and the leg drive...love it. Ball gets seriously overlooked but I see a future pro if he keeps his head on straight. With that vision and running style, he is going to excel at the next level. Look out Big Ten, Dunn and Ball are going to be unstoppable.

When people start talking about vision and lateral quickness, my my immediate thought is how would sOmeone compare to MoC. He had the best combo of vision and lateral quickness at his size that I can remember. Hopefully Ball has some of that.
