Rivals/Scout/etc. National & Regional Rankings

Yeah I read their FAQ. The question still stands...what are the 'major media recruiting services' they're using? Because going by Hooker's numbers they can't be using Rivals, Scout and/or ESPN.

I saw a list once, but have no idea where it was. I think that Lemming, G&W, and Prepstar are three of the others.

It's scout/rivals/espn/247.

They are just using the 247 ranking to measure his composite.

There have been some flaws in it(Marcelys Jones was composite #75 or something when he was a 3* on rivals/scout for 2 months) but it's a decent gauge and shows they respect other sites evaluations as well.

New Rivals 100 and plenty of interesting movement with OSU prospects/commits:

1. DE Da'Shawn Hand
2. DB Jabrill Peppers
4. S Quin Blanding
5. DE Lorenzo Carter
7. DT Andrew Brown
10. OT Damian Prince (like this bump, huge time talent and #1 on my wish list for OL this year)
12. QB DeShaun Watson
14. DB Tony Brown
15. RB Joe Mixon (especially love this one, I think Mixon is easily one of the top 5 RBs in the country and is THE guy I want to see as our RB in this class...all-around talent that would thrive here)
16. OT Quenton Nelson
17. LB Raekwon McMillan (last 5 star of the list on here...earned it back by shedding excess weight and blowing up the combines...top LB in the country)
19. RB Jalen Hurd
20. DB Jalen Tabor
22. OL Braden Smith
23. DE Malik McDowell
27. QB Kyle Allen (one of the biggest movers on the list and completely deserved imo...#1 pro style QB on both Rivals and Scout now)
30. DE Soloman Thomas
35. DB Damon Webb
39. DB Jamal Adams
40. OL K.C. McDermott
45. ATH Marshon Lattimore (seriously? that is criminally low and purely a result of playing in Ohio)
48. DE Jalyn Holmes (not sure why he dropped)
49. ATH John "JuJu" Smith
55. LB Clifton Garrett
57. WR Drake Harris (too low...again, a Midwest guy getting slighted...just watch his film)
59. LB Dillon Bates
61. DB Todd Kelly Jr.
68. WR Demarre Kitt
70. RB Nick Chubb
71. WR Mark Andrews
72. QB Jerrod Heard
75. ATH Speedy Noil
83. LB Nyles Morgan
84. DT Thomas Holley (huge jump from 3 star)
87. OL Demetrius Knox
93. OL Natrell Curtis
97. OT Jamarco Jones

- Ok, I am going to state the obvious here...one Ohio kid...seriously? And criminally low at that. I agree with the ordering in a lot of areas and in all honesty, it is a bit of a down year for the Midwest in general. However, this is a little ridiculous. I'll reserve complete judgment until the 250 comes out but not seeing any of Booker, Campell, Ferns, Jones, etc. on here is just absurd.

New Rivals 250 (note that Marcelys Jones is also a 4 star now but just outside...still way underrated. Not seeing a gap, if any, between he and Knox/Curtis):

108. LB Dante Booker
109. WR Saeed Blacknall
116. WR Curtis Samuel (glad to see the recognition, great player)
117. QB Drew Barker
124. TE Tyler Luatua
127. DB Montae Nicholson
128. LB Michael Ferns
131. RB Mikel Horton (and Rivals continues their tradition of ranking Ohioans with almost no major offers well above Ohio State offers/commits)
137. DT Elisha Shaw
149. RB Derrell Scott
150. DB Quincy Wilson
161. RB Mikale Wilbon (huh...?)
165. DE Dante Sawyer
168. DB Dravon Henry
170. TE Austin Roberts
182. LB Jamardre Cobb
185. DB Darius West
186. QB Brandon Harris
192. WR Trevion Thompson
198. DB Erick Smith
202. OL Nick Richardson (above Trout? and these rankings get even more laughable...)
205. WR Thaddeus Snodgrass (seriously...I guess they are determined to get UK some type of pub)
214. ATH Noah Brown
216. LB Kyle Berger (notice who all is above him? yeah, 3 UK commits we never pursued and you start getting the picture)
230. OL Kyle Trout (so low...borderline top 100 kid)
235. TE/DE Garrett Dickerson
239. WR Dominique Booth
242. DB Cortez McDowell
250. DB Kiy Hester

- Well I can officially say this is the biggest joke of a rankings release I have ever seen. Why not just make the entire top 250 from the south or commits to SEC schools, then close your eyes and point to random names on a prospect list for Ohio to determine the rankings for their prospects. Just pitiful.

I think this covers all of the 3 major service's recent rankings updates (not gonna count ESPN). Let me know if you see anything wrong or notice anyone notable missing.

It comes to me as no surprise that the kids who participated in the Rivals Camp Series were the ones who made the largest jumps in the rankings.

Well yeah, the Rivals guys got to see them up close, so they had the most intel on those that attended.
