Rivals/Scout/etc. National & Regional Rankings

Honestly, this is far and away the best list I have seen this year. The Holmes drop is puzzling and I think Webb is a tad low, but really no major objections. Really comprehensive and well put together.

Holmes didn't test all that well at The Opening, for whatever that's worth. Doesn't mean anything really, but I get it.

Webb tested rather poorly as well, but sounds like he had a pretty good week on the field. 247 had him a lot further down their list for a long time.

Rivals: Projecting the Top 25. We are currently #13
What Mike Farrell says: "There are a lot of things to like about Ohio State being this high right now. This is a pretty good recruit average, there is a lot of room to add players, the Buckeyes are in on a lot of players, and Urban Meyer is one of the best recruiters in the business. I think there will be a real battle for the top of the Big Ten conference, but Ohio State is a lock for top 10 finish."

What the numbers say: The history of Ohio State recruiting, combined with Urban Meyer's recruiting history, and factoring the program is expected to be undefeated through much of the year, puts Ohio State as a mathematical challenger for a top-three finish. Most likely, the Buckeyes will finish between No. 4 and No. 8, but it could boost that top end quite easily.

And I am pretty sure once we land five more names on that top 300 list, we will see 2-3 of our already committed kids on that current list drop out of the top 300 (Berger/Campbell both on the chop line). How those two are that low is beyond me. What a joke!!!

Preseason High School Mr. Football in Each State

With the 2014 high school football season set to begin in just a few weeks, MaxPreps takes a look at the Preseason Mr. Football in each state. Players selected are not necessarily the No. 1 recruit in the state, but they are among the top recruits and/or candidates for All-State and All-American honors.

Of note:

Maryland
Damian Prince, Bishop McNamara (Forestville), OL, 6-7, 305
Prince earned All-Met honors from the Washington Post last season. He has yet to choose a college, but he has virtually all of the top teams in the country looking at him.

New York
Curtis Samuel, Erasmus Hall (Brooklyn), WR, 6-0, 185
Named the New York Daily News City Player of the Year as a junior, Samuel rushed for 1,047 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior.

Ohio
Dante Booker, St. Vincent-St. Mary (Akron), LB, 6-4, 215
Named the Ohio Division III defensive player of the year, Booker led St. Vincent-St. Mary to a state championship and registered 72 tackles and six sacks. He'll play at Ohio State.

Texas
Tony Brown, Ozen (Beaumont), DB, 6-0, 190
One of the top hurdlers in the nation, Brown is also a highly-sought after cornerback, earning Class 4A all-state honorable mention and Super Gold first team honors as a junior. He was ranked No. 3 by Tom Lemming for the class of 2014 in December.

Oh how funny that osu drops in the rankings after getting a commit from a 5star talent and ole miss gets no one and stays at the same position lol

Taking a look at the full rankings, Florida was 13th & jumped 5 spots.

The real joke is that ESPN has TSUN at #6 (with Ohio State at #13).

ESPNs rankings are a joke. They have too much money wrapped up in the SEC to not do everything they can to make them look as good as possible.

Scout and 24/7 have us a little high. On both of their rankings, when you take out teams that have 22-24 committed, there are about 5 teams that are essentially equal with the talent they are bringing in: Bama, Georgia, aTm, Notre Dame, tOSU. I feel like they are fairly accurate. Teams like LSU, Florida, Texas, USC, USC2, ttun, Oregon, Stanford are really all in that next level. All of those that have 20+ in the top 10 will be dropping off in the next few months.

Rivals has us kind of artifically low, as they haven't updated their player rankings since mid May. I expect to see guys like Terry McLaurin and Collier to make big jumps. Some other guys like Campbell and Booker could make a small jump up, but I'm sure that means some guys will be dropping down. After Collier made it to the Elite 11 and McLaurin performed so well in NikeTown, I definitely expect them both to make the jump to 4*. We also have guys that are on the verge of making the jump to 5*, like Webb. I imagine after they redo the player rankings we'll move up to that top tier.

I don't see collier being rated over a 3star.
But a number of teams will fall that have 20+ commits, ie: miami
