CLEVELAND, Ohio – Before making a college decision, Glenville defensive back Erick Smith envisions taking all of his official visits alongside teammate Marshon Lattimore, who said he’d like to take trips to Alabama, Michigan, Oregon, Ohio State and USC.

There’s only one problem.

“I don’t have an Oregon offer,” Smith quipped during an in-person interview with Cleveland.com on Wednesday.

That could be a problem for the Ducks if they want to land the four-star Lattimore considering the three Tarblooders – Lattimore, Smith and offensive lineman Marcelys Jones – plan to all commit to the same college program.

A four-star prospect rated by Scout.com the No. 11 safety in the 2014 class, Smith said it wouldn’t be a deal-breaker if his teammates don’t go to the same college program, but he also didn’t downplay its importance.

“Just knowing that we have the same schools and that we can continue to play together, that’s just an amazing feeling,” Smith said. “It is really indescribable just knowing that I can play with them for the next three or for years after this year. It’s important, we are always talking about playing together.”

just wonder if anyone watched the state game last night. He had a few catches that blew me away and hits like Whitner did. Big time talent I hope we get him for wr , star or corner or even what he's being recruited for safety

Definitely did - he was the biggest impact player on Glenville last night. He forced that fumble late to at least give them some hope and played both ways quite impressively.
