Scholarship Breakdown by Class

Updated to include McCullough in the class of 2016 since he will be grayshirting per the Dispatch (which is why some folks within the program already had us at 85 before Jones).

While that number is good (we all knew it would be) things look very interesting for two years out. We have 12 seniors plus a lot of early departures (I have seen speculation as high as 8) for next year.

But those early departures could leave us with a 2016 senior class as small as FOUR. While that is unlikely, I would expect it to be no larger than six.

Gonna need a few copies of that letter Harbaugh wants Pipkins to sign. You know - the kind of letter they would never use at Holier-Than-Thou U.

Numerous updates to allign with "official" rosters that I am seeing.

McCullough is in fact a frosh this season and not a gray shirt. Interesting that OSU has given two scholarships to long snappers in the school's history and they are both on the same team.

For updating the chart, true freshmen that have for sure played this year: Isaiah Prince, Denzel Ward, Jerome Baker, and Eric Glover-Williams

Question Marks: Robert Landers? KJ Hill? Matthew Burrell? Kevin Feder?

To my knowledge, everyone else is redshirting. Anybody catch any other true freshmen out there playing this year?

Just updated the table for the end of the season (always a bitter-sweet moment).

https://sites.google.com/site/scholarshipbreakdown/home

I redshirted everyone except the four mentioned above (Prince, Ward, Baker and Glover-Williams). The only non-seniors I dropped were the three who have announced (Bosa, Jones and Zeke) and Warren Ball who will not have his schollie renewed for a fifth season.

I also redshirted Noah Brown. There could be other non-Frosh RS as well.

Moved Samuel to RB because it was just too scary to see only Dunn and Weber on that line.

This leaves us with a senior class of 8 next year and that will shrink even further with more early departures.

Right now there is room for an incoming class of 16, but not worried that it will all work out.

Plenty of opportunity for mistakes so let me know of any errors or other changes.

Has there ever been a 5 man class before? I'm sure we'll see attrition on the roster due to NFL entries or transfers or injuries, but how many spots can realistically open? Are we heading for like 15 spots in 2017?

Class numbers aren't really a concern for anyone these days. You take who you want and use roster management to clear room. Even the more traditional B1G teams are doing it these days.

5 - seniors - Dunn, Wilson, Elflein, Burrows, Johnston.
3 - nfl - mcmillan, conley, hubbard (this could get longer)
4 - rs Jrs with renewal questions: Clark (inj), Lisle (if he falls behind youngsters), Sprinkle, Nuernberger
4+ - transfers or unplanned attrition
------------------------
16

There are a half dozen sophomores with major injury issues or other reasons for being buried on the bench.

I also doubt that they only lose 4 other guys to attrition in the next 18 months.

Updated to reflect all announcements through Bell, leaving us with a 5 man senior class. If this isn't the smallest football senior class on record, it has to set the mark for combined football and basketball programs.

Hopefully this is the final shoe to drop and I can look forward to adding commitments and early enrollees.

As of right now, the numbers are not adding up (to include the other 2 - 4 guys the staff is after). Without mentioning names, how does this class finish and how does it affect the current roster? Looking at the roster, its difficult to predict any transfers but I do see 3-4 potential medical hardships. Grey-Shirts? Red-Shirt Seniors who have earned their degrees? Again no names, just potential numbers.
