Pittsburgh Steelers (official thread)

Agree on CB.... Never know hopefully there will be a player or two they have on their board that will get some depth there. I still think we try to find a RB this draft. With Mendenhall out for 2012, I would think they want to get some guys in camp at least.

Makes one wonder what he was doing when he worked with the Steelers:evil:
CLEVELAND, Ohio - A former Pittsburgh Steelers team doctor was arrested today and accused in a 185-count indictment of conspiracy to distribute anabolic steroids, human growth hormone and painkillers to patients. (Read the charges in the document reader below.)

The filing in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh, however, does not identify the patients who received the drugs from Dr. Richard Rydze, 62.

The indictment alleges Rydze distributed the steroids from September 2007 through March 2011. Prosecutors said Rydze and another man distributed the steroids "for unauthorized uses such as bodybuilding and athletic performance enhancement.''

Big Ben nearly died

The Pittsburgh Steelers received some bad news on Wednesday about quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Additional testing on his injured right shoulder revealed a more significant problem, a partially dislocated rib. The injury even threatened Roethlisberger's life with the rib being dangerously close to pressing his aorta, according to Ed Boucette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Roethlisberger suffered the injury in a Monday night win against the Kansas City Chiefs. It was initially called a shoulder injury. He was taken to the hospital immediately after suffering the injury during the game, a rare move that revealed the team's level of concern. The Steelers have already ruled out Roethlisberger for Week 11, and reports Wednesday point toward an extended absence for the quarterback.

James Harrison, Santonio Holmes want to return to Pittsburgh

untitled.jpg

Super Bowl XLIII featured a pair of memorable touchdowns at the end of each half. One came on a 100-interception return as the second quarter expired. The other came near the end of regulation in the corner of an end zone at Raymond James Stadium.

The two players responsible for those scores no longer play for the Steelers. But they apparently want to return.

Cornerback Ike Taylor said recent on hisTribLive Radio show that linebacker James Harrison and receiver Santonio Holmes would like to rejoin the team.

“It’s for sure the both of them want to come back,” Taylor said. “I’ve talked to both of them.”
