Buffalo Bills (official thread)

Just please please please no Taylor Lewan pick by Buffalo tonight. Please. Please!

If the Bills really need to go OT at #9, with Robinson/Matthews off the board, at least make it Martin, for my sake.

It's been 15 years since the playoffs, and 30 years since I lived in Buffalo: Lewan just might be the straw that would break this fan's back.

Will the Bills take full advantage of Watkins? Doesn't seem like an offense that will be able to get the ball to him enough downfield?

That is a good question, but they definitely have a lot of options on offense now, a lot of weapons around EJ assuming he can stay healthy.

Nate Hackett needs to step up his game big-time this year: he's got a great passing-game coaching pedigree--on paper--and now it's time to see some results.

Bills fan gets Ralph Wilson Jr. tattoo

Fans have decorated their bodies with tattoos of team logos and even images of players, but 32-year-old Buffalo Bills fan Jack Meredith might be the first sports fan to get a tattoo of his team's owner.

Meredith, a general manager of a car dealership, said those who have seen the tattoo, especially those on social media, have had mixed reviews.

"Some people think I'm crazy," Meredith said. "I don't care. It's my arm."

The Wilson tattoo is Meredith's second tattoo, joining the Bills logo on his left arm. Meredith, who travels two and a half hours each way for Bills home game, says the Wilson tattoo will soon be joined by an image of former Bills quarterback Jim Kelly. He said he plans to get that tattoo next month.

Bills' Henderson knows there's no excuses

My, how times have changed for Seantrel Henderson, who only a few years ago was among the nation's top college recruits. The Buffalo Bills' message to [Henderson], their final pick in the 2014 draft, was clear: You have one chance. ... A year ago, he was considered a potential first-round pick, but the Bills were able to add him in the seventh round earlier this month. "It was something that we did a lot of research on. We want to make sure that we know exactly what the situation is, exactly what we're dealing with and seeing if we're able to be the proper influence to make that change," Bills coach Doug Marrone said. ... "I think all those things come in to play and if that happens we're going to get ourselves one heck of a football player. If it doesn't, he'll go find another line of work."

Terry Pegula “following the developments” of Bills sale

The sale of the Buffalo Bills took another step forward this week when the team mailed non-disclosure agreements and “teaser” sale documents to prospective buyers.

The full list of potential buyers has not been revealed, but Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula is believed to be among the bidders. Pegula and his wife released a statement through the Sabres on Friday saying that they want to see the Bills remain in Buffalo without offering any confirmation or details about their plans to make a play for the team.

Report: Bon Jovi, Goodell had business lunch on Thursday

bonjovi.jpg

A day after the Buffalo Bills officially commenced the process of selling the team, one of the most prominent suitors reportedly had a lengthy lunch with the man who steers the NFL’s ship.

According to Ian Mohr and Stephanie Smith of the New York Post, Jon Bon Jovi and Commissioner Roger Goodell spent two hours at lunch on Thursday.

“They were definitely talking business,” an unnamed source told the Post. “Jon was taking notes — he had a pen and paper with him at the table.”

For whatever reason, Bon Jovi doesn't fit my image of a typical NFL owner.

Bills legend, cancer survivor Jim Kelly battling staph infection

Former Buffalo Bills quarterback and cancer survivor Jim Kelly is now battling a staph infection, the NFL legend told the Miami Herald.

Shortly after being declared free of jaw and nasal cavity cancer in September, the 54-year-old NFL Hall of Famer informed the paper that pain had returned. Doctors found he had developed a methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection in his bones.

"I was cleared in September of the cancer -- I have another MRI in two weeks," Kelly told the Herald. "The toughest part for me was I was almost ready to take out my feeding tube, I was feeling good and they said they need to do some biopsies. Those 12 biopsies put me back so far."

Kelly said he had to undergo further surgery "to shave some of the bone down so the biopsies can heal over."

Despite a rigorous intravenous antibiotics treatment to combat the infection, Kelly said he's still made it a point to attend alma mater University of Miami's homecoming game against North Carolina on Saturday to serve as honorary captain.

Buffalo Bills need help shoveling 220,000 tons of snow from stadium, offer $10/hour, free tickets

The Buffalo Bills need your help.

With more than four feet of snow falling in Orchard Park on Tuesday, Ralph Wilson Stadium is buried. As coach Doug Marrone and his staff are snowed in at One Bills Drive, the grounds crew has to remove 220,000 tons of snow from the stadium and its surrounding areas. That's enough to fill the ADPRO Sports Complex, where the Bills practice, eight times. But they could have even more snow to remove if they want to play their Week 12 game against the New York Jets as scheduled at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m.

That's why the Bills are looking for people to help with the shoveling efforts. Once the driving ban is lifted in Orchard Park, Bills vice president of operations Andy Major said the Bills will be paying $10 per hour and offering game tickets for anyone interested in helping with the shoveling efforts. Anyone looking to help is asked to call 716-636-4840.

"We're looking to have 500 shovelers on site working those triple shifts," Major said.
"We don't have a minimum number. We can't have too many people helping."
