The Ohio State University Marching Band (TBDBITL)

And now this.

Publishers Won't Let Ohio State Band Play Their Music

COLUMBUS, Ohio -The loss of fired Ohio State University Marching Band Director Jonathan Waters will be felt during football halftime shows this season.

Sources tell NBC4 that at least one big halftime show has been scrapped after two years of planning. Time constraints and a lack of staffing have also caused the band to reuse old practice music from previous years.

So not only did they seemingly create a report that manipulated statements and testimony of (former) band members in a way to reach what appears to be a desired result, but now the fallout is affecting the actual performance of the band in a huge way. Bravo, Drake, bravo.

Every time I try to convince myself that the political correctness and PR-sensitivity that have overtaken our country aren't quite the apocalypse that people a bit more to the right of the political spectrum than I am would have us believe (and sometimes use to justify rudeness and their expression of various "isms"), nonsense like this come up. The world is full of slavery, mass beheadings, human trafficking, child abuse, grotesque manifestations of misogyny, tribalism, quasi-religious insanity, and plain old criminality and THIS is what people take offense to? As an adide, a reportd with a functioning brain might have asked if they'd refused to sell to other offenders like, e.g., the Stanford band.

Out to breakfast in downtown Indianapolis and I run into people talking about The Ohio State Marching Band. Awesome.

Turns out one of the guys was a member of the band a few years ago...was irate about Mr. Waters. Said he wasn't perfect and there's things that needed changed, but he was the one doing the changing and had done a tremendous job of doing so.

Called it a "hit job." Anyway, cool to hear the Bucks get talked about here, ready for gameday!

It was a great performance as always but I thought a couple of the "tricks" were retreads from the last two years. They did the surfboard riding the wave and the horse galloping down the field again. Still very impressive. Better than the game.

I noticed that too; overall, I didn't think the halftime show was nearly as good as several of the shows last year.
