Not changing my own vote. You can go back and read our in-game thread for the first VaTech game and then watch the progression in both the game performance and our excitement as the season wore on.

Several players have said that they don't believe they'd have won the title without the adversity created by that loss. Today was in some ways a loss as well. A win on the record book, but we'll slip in the polls and we dramatically underperformed. I don't think I'm being Pollyannish to say that it's still too early in the season to find ample reason to call for a single loss this season.

Don't misunderstand, though. If I was to rank us as we exist right now, we'd be in the teens. Somewhere in there, 12-15 or so. Our ceiling though? IF we have one it's well above that of anyone else in the country. We CAN be the best team in the country, we're just not close to that now. Using last year as an example, we can get there. I believe we have the players and coaches to be much better than last year, and you can argue that we're already better at this point in the season than we were at this point last season.

Still, this is all guesswork for everyone participating. There is no wrong answer. Well, except for "Four losses or more."

I lean towards 14-1 B1G Championship win/NC win. For whatever reason, Urban Meyer coached teams have games where they look like they've never played football before. I mean they look HORRENDOUS. We had that today but I think we could be in for a shocker loss somewhere down the road, probably before Michigan State. After that loss though, the entire team will proceed to get medieval on some asses on the way to another NC. It's happened to damn near every Urban Meyer coached team I've ever seen.

Lock that vote in, definitely want to be able to track the mood over the season.

Defense is elite.

Offense, well...

I think there are two huge pieces missing from last year that are bigger problems than we hoped...

1A-- we really miss Tom Herman. And not just for his play calling. His work with the qbs is sorely missed. I don't think Tim Beck can carry his jock in fhat department. Also wonder how much Warriner's expanded responsibilities are hurting the OL.

1B-- we really miss Devin Smith. Nobody on this roster is near the deep threat he was, right now. I think that's a big part of Cardale's problems. Somebody needs.to step up, not sure if we have him, though.

Bottom line, rivht now, this offense is a shell of what it was in January. The defense is VERY good. The O is not. Not even close. Still a lot of time to work out the issues, but i have serious concerns three weeks in. We're very vulnerable.

I think we lose in the 1st round of playoffs. I intended to vote 12-2 though.

I miss Tom Herman. I am sure Urban misses him too.

Herman called plays, freeing Warinner to do what he does best, marshalling the OL to be the best in the nation. As Urban said at the end of the game, the OL isn't playing well. Besides, I think the place for the offensive playcaller is in up in the booth.

Undefeated, undisputed national fucking champs.

It's mind blowing that anyone could honestly think otherwise.
After the absolute shit-show today, you shouldn't be surprised to see some thinking we can easily lose a game...like I do. We simply cannot afford to rely on the defense to bail use out for nine more regular-season games...

We won't have to. My whole point is that whatever is wrong with the offense will be addressed by, imo, the best offensive coach in CFB who happens to have ridiculous weapons at his disposal.

You can doubt all you like. I'm supremely confident that Urban will use the absurd talent at his disposal to fix whatever needs fixing and uh, the rest of CFB had damn well better get ready.

But it's whatever. I'm sure there's plenty of posters here that know more than me and Urban combined.
