247 - Buckeyes Offer Four-Star DB's Character and Edmonds

First thing that got my attention is that Nygel's a really bright kid. Offers from Stanford, Harvard, Northwestern, Duke, & Vanderbilt, among many others.

Really like Nygel's film too. The play that starts at 3:14 of his Junior Year HUDL Film particularly got my attention (Nygel had NO business catching that guy, and he did just that... with no angle and starting from a saunter into a dead sprint). Kid has some wheels. Would be an outstanding piece of clay for Coach Combs and Coach Ash to work with.

Question: Is he a take for OSU?

Answer: I don't know for sure but I wold be surprised if he is. I really like the kid but I am wondering if the staff wouldn't prefer to see where they are after the summer with guys higher on the board. I will be the first to admit if I am wrong but I don't see him picking OSU tonight. I know Givler thinks he could be leaning our way but I just don't know if the staff is pushing for a commitment at this time. And he is coming off of multiple visits to Vanderbilt as well as a trip out to Stanford prior to his visit to OSU. There are lots of reasons to think he is picking OSU (I believe his mom lives in Ohio, raved about his visit back in March, etc.) but for some reason I am going to go with my gut and say he is headed elsewhere.

My Pick: Stanford, but I really am guessing

Starting to hear that Stanford is likely to receive his verbal tonight. Not necessarily a bad thing as OSU undoubtedly has a few kids rated higher, including Jared Mayden, Patrice Rene and Wayne Davis. I would have been happy if he chose OSU, but sounds like Stanford will be the pick and OSU will continue to work on other corners in this class.
