Drew Richmond (OL Tennessee Volunteers, transfer to ???)

This is the kind of comment that makes fans of other conferences snicker. Nothing but sour grapes.

Is there dirty recruiting in the SEC? Of course, but no dirtier than in the B1G or other major conferences.
It might be/probably is dirtier, but I agree that I hate when people say that. Especially since you never know on a case by case basis if it's occurring and even implying it could be is attacking the kid's character more than the SEC conference.

You make a fair point, but I think the content of Wade's post is... intriguing.

I don't know if your right or wrong, but to me, there is a tremendous difference in the standards the B1G is held to compared to the SEC. Allegations came out about OSU players swapping their own memorabilia for tats, and that went on how long? It turned out how?

The NCAA spent about 15 minutes looking into Cam Newton. and Auburn paying an IL. OL recruit $50,000. Remember UM being put on probation for extra practice time? It's laughable to think Bama would have gotten hit with the same thing. I could go on, but that's just my opinion.

I think it's crap to insinuate that this kid is on the take just because he has visited some other SEC schools and now has interest in them. Screams about being a poor loser.

Never said that. At all. Just said I would rather not compete with certain schools given their reputations.

EDIT: Again, I may have started this conversation in this thread. And for that, I apologize. But it is worth discussing, probably in a separate thread.

Getting back to Drew, I don't think anyone questioned his integrity. The schools he visited, are impressive competitors. Beyond concerns of their recruiting visits being too nice, they all have impressive track records with the NFL draft.

Wow, that's ironic.

No offense to Drew, great player and one I want in Scarlet and Gray but as soon as it sounds like he might be going south the 5th star come. He probably deserved it before but it's just silly the way this happened. Still hope he comes north.

Edit: oh and he's from Tennessee. Oh and there's been rumors that Tennessee, the home state team, has been the leader for months. But yea I agree, something fishy here.
