If there was one team I did not want to see win the national championship it was Alabama. Not that I had any particular dislike of their football team but because their redneck hillbilly fans didn't need any more wood to put on the fire.

If you frequent some of the college football blogs you know doubt have seen many posting by the Alabama faithful. Those posts drip with arrogance in most cases. Oh sure, you may run across a somewhat civil Tide fan here and there, but they are few and far between.

Let me go back to the rednecks for a second. Remember that down in Alabama, "Y'all will know you're a red neck if Y'all is a Bama fan."

To the typical Tide fan God created only one football conference. The SEC. Any other conference is just a second rate, low life junior varsity league. And....of course there is really only one team that reigns supreme in college football and that's the Alabama Crimson Tide.

I'm sorry but no other college football team has fans that are more arrogant, cocky and rude that Alabama. It's not even close.
This guy knows what's up.

Top Ten College Football Programs With The Most Rude and Arrogant Fans | Bleacher Report

Notre Dame is not even mentioned, but then, they are not so much "rude" as arrogant and delusional.

I kinda disagree with this article. Nebraska fans are among the best in the nation-period. As for tOSU fans-whiny,fickle,spoiled,prone to demanding too much from kids immediately-yes, those are adjectives that could accurately applied to large segments of the fanbase. Rude and arrogant-not really, in my experience.

I'm not able to see the list for whatever reason, but I have to concur that Nebraska fans are very sporstsman like, are not arrogant or rude, they're actually very polite. My parents have done a number of away games over the years, and the Nebraska game several years ago was the most enjoyable for them. The people were very open to the oposing fans, they didn't really give others a hard time, and they actually were invited to dinner. I went to the Nebraska game the following year and that confirmed what I had heard.

Miami was the worst away game they ever did. Miami fans spit on the other team's fans, started a lot of fights, and a lot of unmentionable things. I've heard they've quieted down a bit, but I havne't experienced this first hand. Michigan fans have been pretty bad at times when we've played them at home.

I actually have seen some OSU fans act very rude and arrogant, primarily when attending away games. While they're in the minority of OSU fans at those games, it seems that at any away game I go to, there always is a decent number of OSU fans who drink too much and find the need to be incredibly belligerent and rude. It's almost as if they think it's their job to show the home team that "Ohio's here." Like I said, these OSU fans are in the minority, but they greatly overshadow the OSU fans attending away games that are polite and respectful. That said, I can see how OSU fans, especially at away games, are labeled as rude and arrogant--often times, the few, loudest "fans" create that perception.

Texas with the #2 rudest fans? I don't think so. Based on the posters we've had here (xrayrandy excepted) and comments from Buckeye fans who went to either of the regular season games against them in 2005 and 2006, Texas fans as a whole got high marks.

Are they extremely porud of their team? You bet. But being next to the most arrogant fan base in the country? No way.

I can understand how people at IU could think that-I have been there twice and it was like a home game-O-H-I-O around the stadium, and the locals in Bloomington couldn't believe how much pre-gaming the Buckeye fans were doing. Then again, IU always takes aerial photos for the recruiting brochure during tOSU games, so that the entire stadium will be sold out in red! I don't know any other B-10 places that tOSU would take over in force.

I've been there twice too, and the second time I sat in what I think was the IU student section (there weren't many people there). Two grad students in front of me were talking the whole game about how it was their section, and it was ridiculous that any other fans could sit there. Just a lot of general bitching from both of them the whole game.
