Ohio State out of the picture for Ryan Timmons =Timmons to Florida, James Clark to Ohio State?

Nick Saban offers Ezekiel Elliott = hissy fit from Vonn Bell to Ohio State after in-home visits today?

Bell and Clark (replacing Dontre Wilson) final two in the class = Elliott still bleeds scarlet and gray?

Oh yeah, and

I think OSU is done for 2013, 2014 could be a big year!

Bell - Tenn. - childhood favorite wins out.
Wilson - Oregon - sticks with commitment
Timmons - UK - lots of smoke to Kentucky.
Clark - Florida - seems to be trending to UF at this point.

I hope I am wrong but that is how I see it.

I actually feel fairly good about the odds of Clark being a Buckeye. Visits for Carrington(though this may have to do more with Smith) and Timmons are off. I also heard from another poster that Clemson coaches were supposed to have an in-home visit with Clark tonight but that was cancelled. Clark also said in an interview (will look for a link) that he was down to two schools, and Florida was not one of them and that they would have to "wow" him this weekend.

I also feel really good about Clark. If that kid watched the Florida offense...well lets just say its offensive.

Clark fits our offense much better and I'm sure someone in his camp has enlightened him.

If we can end with Bell and Clark...I'd be happy.

That's my prediction for our finish, and I'd be extraordinarily happy with that. Of course, I'd be happy if we didn't get another commit. Wish there were more OLs in this class, of course, but I think Meyer and Warriner will compensate in '14. I also think Elliott sticks with us.

We are 3 deep at the Center position. I have heard Boren and Elfein are future studs and that's why they RS Elfein. I think depth at the OT position is needed. I don't know where they have Baldwin slotted but Farris has to be an OT.

I think we take 5 and possibly 6 OL in 2014 if they are the right guys.

I love Clarks film. IMO Withers told Bell he will get a lot of PT if not start by seasons end if he comes to OSU. Safety is such a position of need.

Clark, Jacobs, Smith, and Marshall is a major influx of speed at the WR position. That's not including the possibility of signing EZE and Wilson.

There are a few positions OSU has to get more depth at in 2014 but I am optimistic with Meyer at the helm. Lets get some LB'ers, OL, and Safeties...the LB'er class could be out of this world in 2014.

Are you kidding me? Keeping our current verbal's and getting those 2 to finish would be completely off the hook. I'd be beside myself. This will class will be absolutely STACKED.

Getting Bell and at least one of Clark/Wilson would be an incredible way to wrap up this class already outstanding class.

This class should really up the overall team speed.

On offense, guys like Jacobs. Marshall, Elliott, Smith and if they land Wilson and/or Clark would be a ridiculous group of weapons, all of whom have the speed to make a guy miss and take it to the house. Baugh adds a bit of a new element at TE also.

On D, Mitchell is a legit 4.4 guy at LB. Hybrid guys like Lee and Worley can both fly. And a DB class of Apple, Burrows, Conley, Thompson, and Bell would have the speed and talent to match up with any group of WRs.

Combined with the D Line haul of the last 2 classes, you can really see Urban putting his stamp on the roster.

Because we haven't been recuiting him nearly as hard as our other targets. UK gained a ton of ground the last month while we were still deciding whether or not to offer because he's a much bigger priority for them. I think that's his likely landing spot. There's a good reason Timmons' thread got moved out of the main forum to the 2013 recruiting forum.

Had a thought about the srategy of the staff this year. Did we want another OT? Absolutely. Would we bank any extra schollies not used on players we really want? Absolutely. But I have been thinking a lot about Urban's comments right before he was hired here or just after. He said something close to "in college football today you have to win right away." I think this was in part because he knew he had a special player in Braxton and knew the clock would be ticking on maximizing his talents. My point is that the O Line depth is clearly a concern but we shouldn't be surprised by the emphasis on offensive skill players to close out the class. Why? Because if you want to win NOW there is a case to be made that we didn't have any big play guys on offense.

Look around college football and you have seen lot of examples of guys coming in on the offensive side that make a big impact early. LOTS of examples. Urban commented several times about how shocked he was looking at our players intially and how there weren't any 'wow' players who could take one to the house at any time. Of course we wanted good lineman but if we couldn't find them we were going for a few extra skill guys that can make a big impact early. That's why we landed Smith. Now if by some chance we landed Clark/Wilson or both, think about that infusion of big players we would have in one class. It's incredible and it seems Urban feels it is what is needed to win a NC in 2013.

I may have said this before, but I also think we are gun-why relative to OL. During the entire JT/Bollman decade we saw OL talent fail to develop. But look at what has happened in just over a year. We lost three of the highest rated OL recruits in some time (Adams, Brewster and Shugarts) and ended up a much improved line that included four players who were at least honorable mention all Big Ten. Maybe we no longer need to recruit 5 OTs in hopes of getting one who can perform. Maybe we can effectively move kids liek Fragel to that position.

Not saying we don't need to keep bringing in quality kids on the line or that we aren't losing a ton after next season. But we do have six underclassmen on the roster with as many as four who could play the position in the next class. And in an Urban Meyer offense I can live with an OL who misses a block on a defender in exchange for a kid who can make that defender miss the tackle.
