tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Warriner is a brick when it comes to recruiting. It should be very obvious by now if you follow that kind of stuff.
You must have some unique behind-the-scenes insight, because I am basically a non-stop recruiting nerd when work/life allows and I don't perceive him as a "brick". I hear so little about his recruiting efforts that I don't have much of a perception at all.

You will catch on, eventually. Watch as the OL recruits keep dropping and watch what they say about relationships. Example. Read latest update from Burrell. Read the updates about the two OH 5* OL for 16 favoring ND because of relationship with OL coach...

You describe yourself as a non-stop recruiting nerd... but you don't hear about Warriner and his recruiting efforts..

Hmm.. can't be a good sign to a non-recruiting-nerd (like myself)

I've only been following it closely since before Tressel was hired, so I'm encouraged that you think I'll catch on eventually.

I guess what I do not understand is that two guys who are starting our offensive line were recruited for the defensive line and I thought that Dodson was recruited to play OT and now he has been moved to OG.

I think if Urban didn't believe Warriner could recruit he wouldn't stand passively by as we lost recruits. When you look at what he did with our line and the guys that went pro from last year that has to be a selling point to kids. I mean even Krenzelicious knows what a stud recruiter the Walrus was in comparison...

This. Warriner might not be a great recruiter, but he took Bollman's kids and made them into a top notch OL, which allowed less than 5 TFL's (I think the exact # was 2) last year for Hyde. He is one of the best OL coaches in the country. ND fans may kiss my sweet hiney.

Lets not forget Reid Fragel... TE who in 1 year was turned into an All-B1G OL... and a guy who is right now in the NFL, it might on the practice squad but that's much better than most college players can hope for

He seems to suggest clueless parents. Not sure how one can draw the conclusion you just did.

Husker coach Bo Pelini implies that Ole Miss has a "bagman" (Posted on 7/30/14 at 3:42 pm)
quote:

Nebraska scored a big recruiting get at the start of the summer with wide receiver transfer Damore'ea Stringfellow. Stringfellow officially visited Nebraska after committing, but then took visits to Alabama and Ole Miss before flipping to Mississippi.

Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini was asked about the abrupt change of heart by Stringfellow, who had been set to enroll at Nebraska in July.

"Read between the lines," Pelini said. "I think we all know what happened in that situation."

That doesn't suggest what you've posted. And then when you read the rest of the article it suggests parent issues. Pathetic.
