tOSU Recruiting Discussion

I'd trade getting Gustin if it means only closing with him. Arnette would be nice but we have more than enough Secondary help, and Hill would be nice but again it may be another 2 years before he can see the field. Gustin, on the other hand is really important. We need another freak Defensive lineman and while I like Landers and Tremont I don't feel like we've landed a IMPACT defensive lineman in the last two years. We saw Spence, Washington, Schutt, Bosa, and to a extent Marcus in the first few years and while players like Holmes will certainly have their time to shine soon I personally feel Gustin is closer to Bosa than he is to Holmes.

Especially with the prospects of losing Bosa, Washington, and Schutt next year we will need someone like Gustin to ensure the drop off after next year isn't a costly one. Especially with the prospects of the other Bosa coming on board after next year as well we will need someone to take up Bosa's mantle until Nick is ready to resume destruction.
I agree with you that D-Line is the most important spot for us right now. Loads of talent on offense. Having the dominant D, it's hard to go wrong.

Beckner would be sweet, But I believe we have a much better shot at landing Gustin.

Gustin would be #1 need in my mind. Bosa is probably gone next year and we could use another Bosa type player to step in right away and contribute. I'm not sure that anyone in the 2015 class is as ready to contribute right away as Gustin would be.

Coach Meyer seems to really expect big things this year from Sam Hubbard.

Adding Gustin, Hill, Arnette and Prince would be a Ditka finish.

I think I'm most excited about our least talked about recruit In this class, and its mainly because of the position coach. And that's Kevin Feder. After seeing what Warriner was able to do with less herdalded players like Darryl Baldwin and a few others from last year, imagine him working with a 6'9 300+lb monster!

I'm very interested to see what happens with Rashod Berry. Get Mariotti's hands on him with his freakish athletic ability and, if he puts in the work, he could be a terror on the edge.

EDIT: But I think he'll likely need a redshirt year.

IF he is not redshirted I'm definitely excited to see him on the FG defense team! However since he played mostly Dline as a senior (at least what I saw) I'm sure his technique could use a redshirt...lucky for him (and us!) Warriner will be his pos. coach.

Yeah, I didn't specifiy. I meant over his entire career, not just next year. His size alone will be insane to have on the Oline, but After working with coaches Warriner and Mariotti for a year, watch out!
