tOSU Recruiting Discussion

It's looking like the offensive class could be mostly wrapped up by early June if Guarantano/Wallace, Farrell, Eichenberg and Mack jump on board as expected. That would just leave a spot or two at WR and one or two OL.

Looks like things are going to move a lot slower on defense though. Most of the DBs we are chasing are from the South and deciding late. And looks like Urban is purposely trying to slow things down a little bit on the DL to keep the options open going forward.

If you're referring to the 56-17 curb-stomping we put on them last year, I doubt that will have anything to do with Guarantano's decision...

Not even a litte. And I could see Rutgers coaches honestly using that to their advantage, telling JG that if he joins them they would have a better chance, and play for your home state, blah blah blah.
@HilmerJ , never rule out the home state school. Regardless of how terrible they are. Especially when his dad went there too...

I'm sure this list will change even by the end of summer, but still a good reference

Biggest tidbit there is that Birm projects Rashan Gary in the class. Seems to be a little bit more optimism about Gary after his latest visit. DT is probably the most attractive position at OSU for a potential recruit in terms of depth chart and ability to compete to start in 2016, so it makes sense from that perspective. And with Urban and LJ on it, you have to feel like we've got a shot at least.

Also, it is looking like Birm was right that Josh King couldn't commit now even if he wanted to as a scout reporter confirmed. Maybe a little bit surprising based upon how highly he's ranked, but just goes to show how high a level the Buckeyes are recruiting on currently.

[sarcasm]But But but.... the "godfather" predicts that if Guarantano goes to Tenn then Walker and Gary will follow him there and the Buckeyes recruiting class will die on the vine.... [/sarcasm]

Did he actually predict that, or did he say, "I wouldn't be surprised if they followed him to Tennessee, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they went to Ohio State, and watch out for some late moves from the SEC powers and maybe some other schools as well."

You know, the insider insights you pay the big bucks for.

Uhm it was a free link i saw briefly come across Twitter one day last week.
Found it
If Jarrett Guarantano picks the Vols, watch out for Kareem Walker, Rashan Gary and some others to take a strong look at Knoxville. The Bergen Catholic quarterback is very influential in his home state of New Jersey. If he leaves - and it seems the Vols and Ohio State are ahead of Rutgers - then the Scarlet Knights' recruiting efforts will take a massive hit.
