That type of class would be top 5ish I'm assuming?
It would be a minimum of top-3.

Going by Scout:

They already have 1 ***** (12 ovr), 9 **** ... 6 are top-100 ovr.

***** 11 ovr DE Bosa
**** 64 ovr DE Sammons
**** 73 ovr LB Ferns
**** 84 ovr WR Mack
**** 114 ovr WR Corley
**** 145 ovr OT Jordan
**** 154 ovr TE Farrell
**** 235 ovr CB Davis
**** 240 ovr CB Clay

*** NR ovr #34 CB Rene
*** NR ovr #63 CB Felder

Resulting in

02 *****
17 ****
04 ***

12 top-100 players. :yow1:

And that's without anybody shooting up the charts with a strong camp and/or senior campaign.

Good points. I really can't see Felder remaining a three-star.

Don't forget that it's not uncommon for a commit to drop in rankings.

I'll give it a shot since the class is already half full and may have another verbal or 2 very soon.
QB - Tristen Wallace
RB - Kareem Walker
RB - George Hill
RB - Demario McCall
WR - Austin Mack
WR - Donnie Corley
WR/TE - Kierre Hawkins
TE - Jake Hausman
TE - Luke Ferrell
OL - Tyler Gerald
OL - Jack Wohlabaugh
OL - Michael Jordan
OT/DT - Prince Sammons
DT - Malik Barrow
DE - Jon Cooper
DE - Terrell Hall
DE - Nick Bosa
LB - Tuf Borland
LB - Brendan Ferns
DB - Kareem Felder
DB - Chad Clay
DB - Patrice Rene
DB - Wayne Davis

That would be 23 and I hope we can get a true DT like Antwuan Jackson and/or a true saftey like Nigel Warrior. Clay and Davis could both end up at safety, even though they're currently listed as corners.
Need to include the Punter, Chrisman too correct?

The numbers are getting very tight already and I see the breakdown of available spots looking like this:

QB: 0
RB: 0
WR: 2
TE: 1
OL: 1
DE: 1
DT: 1-2
LB: 0
DB: 3-4
K/P: 0

That means 9-11. Considering they are already at 14 and considering the likely attrition of draft-eligible players after next year it wouldn't shock me to still see this class get close to 25.

So let's breakdown the players OSU is looking at for each spot:

WR: Mack and Corley appear to be 1A and 1B but Javon McKinley says he will likely take an official to OSU and I would have him higher on my board than Corley, who I see ending up at MSU or at some wildcard team in the SEC. Kid just seems to fall in love with every school he visits. I know OSU needs outside WRs but I would chase Sam Bruce to the end of the Earth. Binjimen Victor and Josh Imatorbhebhe are two other names you could see the staff pursue if they miss on Corley. I have Mack as in right now.
TE: Luke Farrell is the only real target left at TE and if they miss, which I don't think they will, you may see that spot used somewhere else.
OL: Michael Jordan seems the most likely candidate to me. He has made countless visits to OSU and Coach Coombs has made him a priority.
DE: Nick Bosa will fill this spot. Keeping Terrell Hall from developing a wandering eye will also be important.
DT: Obviously they will chase Rashan Gary. I absolutely love Julian Rochester but it seems Antwuan Jackson is the more likely DT target from Georgia. Chris Daniels, Michael Onwenu, Kyree Campbell and Naquan Jones are other targets here.
LB: Everything I've heard is that the Bucks may stand firm with Borland and not take any additional LBs. Hansford could be the exception but I still think the coaches want to see him live again.
DB: Obviously the cloudiest spot as there are several targets here. Jordan Fuller, Damar Hamlin, Nigel Warrior, Jared Mayden, JoeJuan Williams, Patrice Rene, Wayne Davis, Andrew Pryts, Chad Clay, Craig Watts and Demetric Vance seem to be the names that have emerged so far. Expect more names to show up over the course of the year.

So here's my early prediction for the 2016 class (subject to change, as always):

QB: Tristen Wallace
RB: Kareem Walker
Hybrid: Demario McCall
WR: Austin Mack, Javon McKinley
TE: Jake Hausmann, Luke Farrell
Flex: Kierre Hawkins
OL: Tyler Gerald, Jack Wohlabaugh, Michael Jordan
DT: Malik Barrow, Antwuan Jackson
DE: Jonathon Cooper, Terrell Hall, Nick Bosa
LB: Tuf Borland
CB: Kareem Felder, Jared Mayden, Wayne Davis
S: Damar Hamlin, Jordan Fuller
ATH: George Hill
P: Drue Chrisman

Honestly, I am cool with sticking with Borland unless we swing for the fence and get an absolute stud. But that is also contingent on not missing on too many studs at other spots. I honestly really like Hansford, Tucky, and Sandwisch enough to take any one of those if too many other spots fall through.

So @wadc45, you no longer see Prince Sammons in this class? He was seen as an elite prospect and someone who could keep the top talent from Cincinnati coming to the Buckeyes

Not saying I don't see him in this class just really wasn't sure where to fit him in. They could possibly take him as a jumbo athlete who could eventually be an OL or DL. He was the last guy off my list...and honestly I could have made a case for him in or out at this point. I would like to see/hear that OSU is still actively pursuing him as aggressively as others.

I think we're making it extremely easy for all the other colleges

RIVALS.COM RELEASES UPDATED 250
All of the big cheeses from Rivals.com gathered over the weekend apparently and updated their Top 250 list. As you might expect, the Buckeyes are well represented on the list, both with commitments and high-priority targets. First, let's take a look at the Ohio State verbals on the list.

  • No. 22 - Kareem Walker, RB, New Jersey
  • No. 54 - Jake Hausmann, TE, Ohio
  • No. 66 - Demario McCall, ATH, Ohio
  • No. 103 - Malik Barrow, DT, Florida
  • No. 148 - Jonathon Cooper, DE, Ohio
  • No. 177 - George Hill, ATH, Ohio
  • No. 202 - Terrell Hall, DE, Washington, D.C.
Ohio State is on the trail of a number of other prospects who made the list. Some key names?

  • No. 1 - Dexter Lawrence, DT, North Carolina
  • No. 5 - Nate Craig-Myers, WR, Florida
  • No. 6 - Rashan Gary, DT, New Jersey
  • No. 9 - Gregory Little, OL, Texas
  • No. 17 - Nick Bosa, DE, Florida
  • No. 51 - Ahmir Mitchell, ATH, New Jersey
  • No. 59 - Antwuan Jackson, DT, Georgia
  • No. 79 - Donnie Corley, WR, Michigan
  • No. 126 - Damar Hamlin, DB, Pennsylvania
  • No. 149 - Landon Young, OL, Kentucky
  • No. 191 - Michael Onwenu, OL, Michigan
  • No. 195 - Luke Farrell, TE, Ohio
  • No. 208 - Austin Mack, WR, Indiana
Ohio State has 15 current commitments in the 2016 class and if this list is any indication, it's going to finish with a pretty spectacular group come February.

Decent list, IMO. My only arguments would be that Cooper and is still too low and Mack at 208 is criminally undervalued. On the flip side I see Barrow as more of a project than Rivals. Hall has a chance to move up after he comes back from injury but it's tough to argue where he is ranked at right now given his injuries. And Ahmir Mitchell at 51 baffles me....especially when they have Mack at 208.
