TX DE Solomon Thomas (Stanford Signee)

Dont count on that. the AD Deloss is retiring in 2014, Mack COUlD last until he goes.

Fify
If Mack gets embarrassed in yet another red river rivalry, he could be showed the door. Stoops has pretty much owned Mack, I don't see many coaches for Osu or scUM keeping their jobs for very long if they got blown out the way Mack brown has against OU

Be that as it may, my guess is the AD may not make it another year if he doesn't act. Tejas fans are ... crazy... Not in a Pedo U way, but ... crazy.
The only fans that count are the good ole boys that wipe themselves with $1000 bills, they love Mack the politician and the access he and Deloss give them.

John Cooper is all I will say

Mack still has a few assistance's he can drive over... I'll be very surprised if he isn't back next year.

Mods: sorry for going off topic can you please move the last me few posts to the Mack Brown thread

per Ryan Ginn @ BSB, at the game on an unofficial visit. Will probably take another official later.

Stanford, Texas, Ohio State battle here. ND and Alabama probably lurking. Getting him back fro an official will be big considering how focused he is on academics. The fact he has made two visits on his own dime from Texas speaks volumes.

This may sound like the most homerish thing I've ever said but given OSU's scheme and needs (and DL is not a huge need obviously), I will gladly take Thomas over a guy like Hand. Doesn't mean I wouldn't want Hand. Doesn't mean it bugs me that he is probably going to end up at TSUN. Hand is a phenomenal player and has all the tools. But I know for a fact that there were some who were more impressed by Thomas at The Opening than by Hand. And I think he would fit perfectly into OSU's base scheme with guys like Bosa, Marcus and Holley.

Good point...Thompson is to me easily the most underrated recruit in thus class.

Agreed, I've always thought Thompson was the most underrated. He's strong like an ox and has a relentless motor. I see a future DT.
And Thomas would be a great SDE to accompany Holmes on the other side like RB said. And Thomas would also be versatile enough to add weight, and not lose athleticism, and be as versatile as diesel and bosa. The D line is where urban Meyer wins NCs, and this kid could add great depth from day 1 as well as take the torch as a starter eventually. Would love to get him, but who would we lose to get him? I thought our targets are pretty set outside of the 4-5 o linemen and waiting for just 1 to commit.

With Thomas, it's really not a matter of "I heard this or that," it's just an educated guessed, reading tea leaves and trusting implicitly in the product that Ohio State is selling and the men in charge of selling it. If you're a high school senior in Texas, who had already been to Ohio State once this year on your own dime, and you choose to make that trip again — and again on your own dime — it's a pretty good bet you're not just trying to get frequent flyer miles.

Combine that with Ohio State's desire to add another defensive lineman, Thomas' versatility at 6-foot-3, 260 pounds and the fact that he's said he still would like to make another — an official — visit to Columbus and it's impossible to dislike the Buckeyes' odds. Thomas is not a player that talks much about his recruitment, but the facts here indicate a keen interest in the Buckeyes. Trust Urban and his staff and good things will happen more often than not. That's why I moved my "crystal ball" pick on Thomas to Ohio State.
