He grew up as a fan of Ohio State and Texas.
Jones said he always picked the Buckeyes as his team of choice when playing NCAA Football on the PlayStation 2 since they were consistently one of the best teams in the game.

Things appear to be picking up for Brandon Jones once again after a 12-day gap between offer No. 17 and opportunity No. 18.
Penn State, Ohio State and Stanford have offered Nacogdoches’ rising junior safety within a 24-hour span to become Jones’ 18th, 19th and 20th college football options.
Penn State and Ohio State’s scholarship opportunities add two more common offers between Jones and Nacogdoches teammate Jaylon Lane. Of the 21 schools interested in Jones, Lane owns 17 opportunities with the same schools.
