I thought Coach Johnson did away with the WDE and SSDE terms, and uses only Left and Right DE now

While that is true, I would still think assignment-wise that the "Right/Left Ends" still reflect the WDE/SDE distinction. For example, I would suspect that Bosa still primarily has SDE responsibilities and Spence has WDE responsibilities. I would guess the distinction can blur when we have (by way of example) Spence and Tyquan Lewis on the field. All that being said, I think Sweat is a WDE to be sure. And down the road, if the best two DEs are (again, for example) Jalyn Holmes and Josh Sweat, they would be the primary Right/Left DEs. Speaking of which, both are very similar players but it would be awesome to have that VA due on our roster. I truly think Sweat is the best prospect in the country with his high ceiling (Cowart is amazing but I think he is close to his ceiling and I consider CeCe Jefferson a DT
). I know we are definitely in the mix but UFM/LJ Sr. are going to need to work their magic for this one to happen.

I'm smelling a Jaylin Holmes type situation here. Not saying he commits on his visit by any means but I think he has much more interest in us and FSU isn't quite the far and away leader like most previously thought.

People in Virginia say he's not likely to venture far away from home and with VT and UVA being out it it could be between us and UGA.

When was the update that VT was out of it? I thought they were in his top 3 as well.
