Ohio State students to Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan: Deal With It

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Thad Matta wouldn't go there, so the Ohio State student section will.

Deal with it, Bo Ryan.

I'm finishing a story now on the bubbling Ohio State-Wisconsin rivalry, and the flame should be turned up as high as it ever has been on Sunday.

Considering the fact that Wisconsin knocked off No. 1 Ohio State in both football and basketball this season, the fact that Wisconsin's win in Madison concluded with Ohio State star Jared Sullinger saying he was spit on by a fan, and the fact that the response of Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan to Sullinger's allegation was to say that he had seen no proof of the incident, and, moreoever, "We won the game, deal with it," ...

Well, Sunday should be fun. Matta said Thursday he thinks the environment could be the best he's ever seen at Value City Arena, but when I asked him specifically about the spitting allegation and "Deal With It" quote, Matta said he didn't think that had anything to do with this game.

It does.

The Nuthouse, the OSU student section, is working two angles for Sunday's 4 p.m. tip, when the No. 1 Buckeyes will be trying to clinch an outright Big Ten title:

1. A Grayout. Wisconsin and Ohio State fans can look a lot alike when they get their red on, so OSU fans are being asked to wear gray. The slogan? "Don't Be Caught Dead in Wisconsin Red."

2. The Deal With It towel. This will be handed out to 1,400 students.

My story will be posted Friday that should explain just how and why this rivalry is growing in intensity.

Deal With It rags only prove the point.

Haha love the rags. Nothing wrong with a little rivalry.
:shake::lol:

as much as Wisconsin may want Ohio State as a rival, you have a long way to go before you get out of "very recently a pain in the ass" status

keep trying to stoke the flames for the sake of being relevant, though, it's humorous in its desperation

Actually I took the rivalry cue from the article posted. I'm not the only one.

Yes, because sports writers don't have any ulterior motives to be dramatic about things.

Don't flatter yourselves.

You have to be able to field a good team more than once every 4-5 years to be a rival.

Yours is just a trashy fanbase that's annoying as hell when they are on the "good" part of the cycle.

+1

Step in line behind Penn State fans Wisconsin. Between the two of you, your teams may be competitive every other season.
