Brax is the national cover. Clowney is a regional cover for the southeast only. AFAIK it's the only regional alt they did.

No vacation for Murray
Just one week into spring practice, Georgia players will be dismissed this weekend for spring break. But there will be no trip to the beach for Aaron Murray. Instead of heading south to Florida the Bulldogs' star quarterback is heading northwest to Norman, Okla., for some extra training. He'll be working at the University of Oklahoma with noted quarterback specialist George Whitfield. Murray has worked with Whitfield during his stints at the Elite 11 quarterback camps in California.


"He's Landry Jones' quarterback coach and Landry's pro day is Thursday of that week," Murray said, referring to the Sooners' just-graduated quarterback. "Braxton Miller of Ohio State is going to be there as well and we're going to be working with (Whitfield) in the morning and the afternoon and Landry is going to be training between us. So it should be fun to get a couple of two-a-days in, work with them and have some fun."
Murray said he won't miss the annual spring break party ritual.


"I've had my share of fun spring breaks," said Murray, who spent last year's break in Key West, Fla. "It's my last go-round and I've got to make sure I'm ready to go this season and not do anything stupid this year."

Braxton will travel to Norman, Oklahoma (along with UGA QB Aaron Murray) to work with George Whitfield - noted QB Specialist.

I always get worried about early hype stories messing with player's effort...but I think the Urban Legend has seen this before and Miller will be ready.

Also, what is with the love affair for Clemson?

Agreed. But when it comes down to it, it'll be next to impossible for a defensive player, let alone a d linemen to win the heisman. Teo was the closest in a while and he got so close because of his interceptions. If not for that, shazier had every bit as good of a year. Clowney will need a very large number of sacks to remain in the heisman race

If Derrick Thomas or Suggs couldnt win the heisman as a true defensive player, than I have a hard time seeing Clowney win it. I think he will get all the other awards though (like he should have over Teo in 2012)

Honestly, the QBs in 2013 are really good. Braxton I think will have the advantage being surrounded with better talent, and going up against a relatively weak schedule. He should be able to put up big numbers with Urban again.

If Manziel doesnt have the epic collapse I expect him too (and beats bama again) he would probably deserve it again as much as it pains me to say. SEC/ESPN bias will make sure of it.

I expect Manziel to have a good season, but no way will he duplicate this year without Swope and Joekel (spell check).

IMHO its between Braxton & Tahj. Of course you'll get McCarron's name tossed around a little bit (sadly) Perhaps a dash of Marquise Lee and then Clowney, but nothing overly serious.

If Clemson has 1-2 losses as history suggests they will coupled with Braxton leading an undefeated and possible top 3 team it will be really hard to ignore.

edit: How in the hell did I overlook Teddy Bridgewater is beyond me. That kid is legit too. He'll be near the top depending on L'villes success.

Manziel won't be sneaking up on people this year. He will be critiqued after every game. It's human nature to tear people down.

Fueled by his head coach's demands that he improve, Ohio State's Braxton Miller has a clear assignment during spring drills. "I think about that all time, every time I step on the field," Miller said Thursday of Urban Meyer's criticisms.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Two days after the Ohio State football team completed an undefeated season and Braxton Miller was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, coach Urban Meyer threw some cold water on a sophomore quarterback being bathed in recognition.

Miller recalls Meyer's words and his challenge last November. So does Buckeyes quarterbacks coach Tom Herman, who also was implicated.

"Our quarterback wasn't the best quarterback fundamentally in America, so Tom Herman and I are going to have a chat," Meyer said on Nov. 27. "Why didn't that happen?

"This is big-boy football. That's your job. He did great work in other areas. Tom Herman did a fabulous job. But Tom Herman and Braxton Miller understand they have to get better. And Braxton fundamentally, if he becomes fundamentally the best quarterback in America, I think he will be the best quarterback in America."

Miller and his position coach were reminded of the comment Thursday after spring practice. The quarterback, who graced the Sports Illustrated cover on March 4 and is being touted as one of the Heisman Trophy frontrunners, said he uses Meyer's comments as motivation.

"I think about that all time, every time I step on the field," Miller said.
