WR Devin Smith (National Champion)

Both Waller of Georgia Tech and Green-Beckham of Missouri are taller, heavier and almost 1/4 second faster...both of them would be much better TE prospects. And most NFL safeties are faster than a 4.7 40...

Key word from that post, mililaniBuckeye was "most". I was eluding to his size being a mismatch more so than his speed. He doesn't have the greatest hands but he has shown he can get up and get it......as well as drop a few....lol

Jets rookie WR Smith breaks ribs, to miss most of camp

New York Jets rookie wide receiver Devin Smith will miss the majority of the remainder of training camp after breaking some ribs during practice at training camp.

The team announced Friday night that Smith was being hospitalized overnight as a precaution after getting hurt earlier in the day while making an impressive catch.

Smith, a second-round draft pick out of Ohio State, caught a long pass from Geno Smith that deflected off the hands of cornerback Marcus Williams. While Devin Smith was coming down, he was hit from behind by safety Jaiquawn Jarrett, and it appeared Smith's head and neck area took the brunt of it.

With fans cheering the catch, Smith was slow to get up. He was eventually taken into the locker room by trainers.

Coach Todd Bowles had no update on Smith immediately after practice, the Jets' second of training camp.

''I'm going to go inside and see what happened,'' Bowles said. ''I saw him walking gingerly coming off, so I have to go inside and check on him.''
