WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

Teddy G. the new #7

I guess Underwood is keeping #2

Ted Ginn Jr. wore No. 2 on his game jersey while playing football at Glenville. He did so in honor of his idol, former Michigan two-way standout and 1997 Heisman Trophy winner Charles Woodson.

But when Ginn suits up for Ohio State in the fall, he'll be wearing No. 7. "Two other players already at OSU have No. 2," Ginn said.

Any chance of him switching to No. 2 sometime during his Buckeye career? "I don't think so," he said.

If the Bucks have trouble at getting solid play from that no.2 corner spot do you think ginn jr. could see time later in the season as a starter?

Between Youboty and Underwood I'd be pretty surprised if our corner play on the side opposite Fox was poor. Ginn is so good it might be tough to keep him off the field. I'd look for him to play the Nickel similar to what Whitner did last year. It sure is nice to have all these options at corner.

Nutty, I'm with you on Ginn in nickle formations.

Hopefully Underwood will be markedly better than he was in early 2002. Youboty supposedly has been looking good in camp, so maybe we won't have much of a drop-off at corner with the departure of Gamble. Fox will be solid as always...

yeah, what Mili said... Tressel was saying after one of the scrimmages that it will be very tough to keep Youboty off the field this season...

B. Mitchell, i think, will most likely be the Nickel...

as good as he is, i think TG2 only sees the field in the dime, or if someone gets injured... his best chance at PT this year is as a KR/ PR...

Whoever is the nickel will have to be a good blitzer and tackler. That is what they want, along with some cover ability.

Right now I would say that the looser of the Everet/Mitchel/Whitner battle is the Nickel.

Ginn would have to show a lot.

I know everyone disagrees but I would think it would be MORE likely that Ginn and Youboty play CB (maybe underwood but I think Youboty looked better in the spring game)

Fox moves to safety with Salley and we will have the best possible secondary on the field

I really must be the odd guy out here. I have a feeling that Ginn will be playing mainly on Special Teams and maybe share a little time in the nickel package if we have some blowout games. I know he was the top DB in the nation, but he just has a tough nut to crack with the guys lined up before him.

Also, I think Salley and Whitner have Safety set. The only way I see Fox there is if Underwood and Youboty beat him out at CB, which I really don't see happening.

Of course, I am often wrong. Just check out my stock portfolio.
