It's not. Cowherd got his story from Bill Greene (through another party inbetween).

The Bill Greene / Cowherd story was about recruiting violations. (oregon)

Well there were rumblings something bad coming to OSU then the selling story came out. Then one or two people said that was not the end of it but nothing came of it. However this sounds so utterly unlike tressel.

Yeah, that was what I thought of upon hearing this. Was this the other shoe to drop? If it was a 2 month investigation the timing sounds right.

So hoping the grad can chime in whether this is it or not.

That's what I think as well. Like others have said, it may be as "innocent" as someone approaching him at a function or somewhere else, and seemed like just another person wanting to be important and it actually turned out to be true after he brushed it off as said feather ruffling. Or...there may actually be negligent intent. Which strikes me as very un-Tressel-like.

Hopefully nothing more comes of this.

That's what gets me, Yahoo has been pretty solid on stuff like this. But they run with this story with just 'a source' says Tressel was told earlier? Really... that's all they got?

So the question is, do they have more? Maybe waiting for Ohio State's response to drop the other article? Basically putting a trap out there to see if Ohio State responds a certain way, then bring out story #2???

As Ken Gordan stated, OSU was only told 30 minutes before this story hit.
