Academic Progress Rate

The Academic Progress Rate (APR) is the centerpiece of a comprehensive NCAA academic reform package. Teams and schools who do not meet NCAA guidelines for academic performance face penalties including reduced scholarship limits, restricted postseason eligibility, and restricted membership.

Through three years of the APR, no Ohio State team has received sanctions. Four Ohio State teams (men's fencing and women's basketball, cross country, and swimming) were within the top 10 percent of APR scores nationally within their sports in the most recent APR results.[1]
