I'm not sure why they were going to an end zone play with that much time, as it would give Clemson time to go get 3. The short passes were really working.
Ohio State has had trouble running tonight. Couple of big runs, but seems like it's mostly been 1-2 yard gains. Fields has been much more crisp the past quarter, though.
The D's been better than I expected against a powerful offense, but they have to get the momentum back. My concern all year has been whether Fields can throw the ball well enough, esp. in the red zone, to compete against Clemson and LSU's superior QB play.
Still in it, though.
Two complete knucklehead plays from Wade and whoever ran into their kicker, injuries, Dobbins dropping a likely TD screen that couldn't have been easier to catch. OSU just killing themselves right now.
The bad red zone offense in the first half was a little more expected, but that doesn't...
GA above OSU is a joke. The committee's rationale continues to bob around from year to year. In 2015 an OSU with one of the greatest collections of talent in CFB history, held back by a terrible offensive coordinator, but still only 1 close lose to a playoff team, misses out. But of course...
Maybe Barrett gets you first downs and you squeak out this game, but you have zero chance in the playoffs with him. Zero. The real problem is that this offense has been wholly unable to generate any big plays or show any capability of a downfield passing game tonight. In fact, the passing game...
I never wish a player gets injured, I just meant fortuitous in the sense of the team's ending up with a title due to an unfortunate injury.
Also, my problem isn't with Barrett...he tries and he is what he is... it's with Urban's refusal to see the obvious that JT's QB skills have held the team...
What's sad is that even with Haskins I think this OSU team would be right there with any of the 4 teams and belonged. But Urban's one-track mind with JT wasn't going to be changed...
