People should wear whatever they like. Personally, I'd feel a bit weird wearing the jersey of a current Buckeye at age 39. But I'd probably feel better wearing a #45 or a Chic Harley. (What was his number again?)
2002: 51, 50, 45, 45, 34 (Averaged 29 pts per game on the year)
One could definitely make the case that Tressel teams usually win with superior defense, outstanding special teams, and a just good enough offense. A friend of mine called during the game and started railing about "that lughead...
I did mention that Zwick has done a better job of distributing the ball than Smith. Granted, Smith is rusty. To be honest, however, I have doubts about Zwick's instincts and intangibles... attempting to switch the ball from one hand to another last week versus Texas is one example.

Some solid opinions here. It seems that Smith just wasn't distributing the ball the way one expect to see in a spread offense. Troy is the better QB, but Zwick has done a bit more in this area.
We are all used to seeing games like this under Tressel...plodding toward victory against a vastly...
The 1917 Buckeyes also deserve a mention. They went 8-0-1 while outscoring opponents 292-6. The tie was a 0-0 contest with Auburn, in a game that was scheduled for military personnel.
Here's my list:
1) 1916 7-0 : Chic Harley leads Buckeyes to first ever undefeated and untied season, first conference title, first ever wins over Illinois and Wisconsin.
2) 1942 9-1: Paul Brown's National Title. One of those odd years with no unbeaten teams left at the end of the season...
God, I remember that moment. It made a huge impression on me at age seven. I expected the Bucks to rip down some Michigan pennant or flag every year after that. Still do, actually.
Ohio Stadium has always been "the Horseshoe" or just "the Shoe". But Michigan's place wasn't called "the Big House" (or "the Shit House") until it was so named by Keith Jackson, probably in the late 80's. Now they say "the Big House" like it's some nickname from eons ago. This, among other...
Yes, I agree. How many "little mistakes" does it take to connect the dots? Hasn't Bollman done enough harm as offensive line coach and "offensive coordinator" ? And sooner or later, shouldn't some of the shit start to stick with the guy in the sweater vest?
